It will be the 21st anniversary of Wolverhampton becoming the first City ever to be recognised as a Fairtrade community whereby it gained its Fairtrade certification from the Fairtrade Foundation

The Partnership goes from strength to strength and this year presented 11-year-old Layla Perry of Ormiston SWB Academy in Bilston the first ever Young Fairtrade Campaigner of the year award and announced its new Wolverhampton City Fairtrade Ambassador Councillor Carol Hyatt.

The Partnership were recently invited to the local History Fair at the City archives Molineux hotel building where they showcased years of memorabilia and archive materials of Wolverhampton Fairtrade Campaigning activity

Julia Farrell , Chair of the Wolverhampton Fairtrade Partnership said " It's amazing to see the passion and integrity of many campaigners over many years brought to life through archive photos, schoolchildren's artwork and much more "  Thank you to everyone across Wolverhampton who buys and promotes Fairtrade and supports us in the work we do to spread the message of trading fairly and ethically".

The Partnership will be giving a talk and bringing their archive materials to The Wolves Society event on 12th December at 7. 30pm at Penn Bowling Club and would love people to come along and support, whether as a listener, or to share their memories of their involvement with Fairtrade.
