Wolverhampton Literature Festival
7th December 2020

It’s probably fair to say we’re all in need of something to look forward to in 2021. Thankfully Wolverhampton Literature Festival will be starting the year in the best possible fashion with a vibrant programme of events over the weekend of 12-14 February. In recognition of how our world has changed since Covid, some will be live-streamed, some will have a small, socially-distanced audience. All of them promise to be worth watching.

Over the past three years, the festival has built a deserved reputation for bringing great literature to our part of the world, while establishing itself as the Black Country’s foremost celebration of the  incredible talent which exists across our region. If you’ve not yet taken the opportunity to explore what it has to offer, why not make a new year resolution to drop in on one or more of their events? Especially now you can do that from the comfort of your own sofa!

Already up and running is the festival’s much-loved poetry competition, now in its fourth year. For 2021, the judge is acclaimed Black Country poet Liz Berry, who will be picking the winners from poems submitted on the theme of ‘aspects of love’. The competition is open for entries right up until midnight on December 31st, the 1st prize is £400, and all the details of how to enter are available here:
