In advance of the Wolverhampton Literature Festival, which is held in venues across the city centre early next year, the festival poetry competition is once again open for entries. As always, the competition has a £400 1st prize, a 2nd prize of £150, and three 3rd prizes of £25, but there’s also an additional prize of £50 for the best poem sent in by someone living in a WV postcode.
You can send in your poems – on any subject you choose – any time between now and midnight on December 31st, 2023. Poet Holly Magill (pictured) will judge the main competition, while the WV postcode prize will be chosen by Dave Pitt, Associate Artist at Wolverhampton’s Arena Theatre.
The fee for entering a poem to the competition is just £4.00, or you can send in three poems for £10.00. For more information, go to https://pandemonialists.co.uk/wolf-poetry-comp-2025/
The 2025 festival takes place over the weekend of 31st January - 2 February, and full details of what’s happening will soon be available on the festival website.
