5th September 2019

September is National Recovery Month celebrating the achievements of those who have suffered from drug and alcohol addiction and a unique exhibition at the Light House in Wolverhampton is to feature the work of people who are in recovery alongside the work of established artists and alumni artists. The exhibition carries a message of hope for those still suffering.

The exhibition challenges addiction related stigma and gives a platform for artists to share their stories and lived experience through art, installation, video and audio. For many this is their first time in an exhibition which brings their stories together and shares messages of hope to others yet to embark on journeys of recovery.

The launch event is at the Light House, Fryer Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1HT, on Thursday September 12th 6-9 pm and runs until the end of the month. There will be music by All Hands Sounds and the evening will feature an opportunity to meet with the artists involved and discover more about recovery opportunities in Wolverhampton.

There will also be a silent auction of original artwork and prints donated by local artists. All monies raised will be going to the work of the Good Shepherd Ministry in Wolverhampton working with the poor and homeless in the City.
