Suffolk Olympic leagacy project recruits volunteers

The Suffolk 2012 Volunteering Legacy Project which is part of the London 2012 Olympics has already recruited in the region of 250 people.

Their aim now is to get more people involved in becoming helpers at sporting and cultural events all around Suffolk.

Derrick Thomas, 76, is a former cricket and hockey player from Ipswich who was the first to join the project and has volunteered at the swim and at open-air concerts.  Mr Thomas will also be taking part in the Olympic Torch Relay and will carry the flame between Wickham Market and Woodbridge on 6 July.

So, if you are ready to get inspired and to inspire others in sport and cultural events and want to make this an opportunity to be involved in the 2012 Olympics  Visit Suffolk 2012 Volunteering Project

Volunteers are needed to work as stewards, to help at concerts and swim events and many other behind the scenes roles.
