The Tour of Britain 2012 starts with the Suffolk to Norfolk leg
The opening stage of the Tour of Britain 2012 is going to be the Suffolk to Norfolk leg which will be leaving from the Ipswich Waterfront in Suffolk on 9th September and arriving at the Norfolk Showground.
The riders will pass through Woodbridge before heading off to Aldeburgh and crossing the boarder to Norfolk in Lound.
A spokesperson for the tour said: "The crowds have always been very supportive in Suffolk and Norfolk so it's great to be bringing stage one there."
This First stage of the tour is known as the Grand Depart and Suffolk and Norfolk Councils are pooling resources to make sure that it lives up to its name!
The first stage of the Tour of Britain will travel through these places:
Ipswich, Kesgrave, Woodbridge, Tunstall, Snape, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston, Reydon, Wrentham, Kessingland, Lowestoft, Oulton, Blundeston, Lound, Filby, Potter Heigham, Hoveton, Cotishall, Reepham, Swanton Morley, Dereham, Mattishall, East Tuddenham, Coton, Easton and the Norfolk Showground.
