Nativity play trials and tribulations

From Tim Firth, author of Calendar Girls and Neville’s Island, comes Wythall Theatre Company’s latest offering set around the trials and tribulations faced by many primary school teachers; the staging of the annual nativity play.

In The Flint Street Nativity, which runs at the Palace Theatre, Redditch, from November 10 to `3, Mizzis Horrocks' class of seven year olds is about to perform their nativity play at Flint Street Infant School for the proud mums and dads — and the occasional social worker.

Squabbles arise when Gabriel wants to play Mary, the Star grumbles he's not a proper star like they have at NASA, Herod won't stop waving to his mum and dad and the subversive Innkeeper is determined to liven up the traditional script. And then the stick insect escapes.

Tickets can be purchased from the box office, by phone on 01527 65203 or online from the theatre’s website. For further information visit www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk
