Join us for February half term fun at our West Hagley garden centre...

Spark your children’s creativity and curiosity with two delightful activities available at Webbs Garden Centre, Kidderminster Rd South, Hagley, Stourbridge, DY9 0JB

From decorating vibrant terracotta pots and sowing seeds in our Sow and Grow activity to designing charming wooden birdboxes in our Decorate a Bird Box workshop, your little ones will enjoy a joyful blend of creativity, learning, and fun. Best of all, while they immerse themselves in these memorable experiences, we’ll take care of the tidying up.

Sow and Grow

Inspire a love of gardening in your youngsters this February half term with our delightful Sow and Grow activity at Webbs, West Hagley.

This engaging experience allows children to decorate a charming terracotta pot using vibrant acrylic paint pens and stencils. Once their artistic masterpiece is complete, they'll be able to get their hands dirty by planting flower seeds in compost, ready to water, feed, and nurture at home as they bloom and thrive - perfect for budding green fingers.

A joyful blend of creativity and learning, this activity is suitable for children aged 3 years and above – and while they immerse themselves in the fun, we’ll take care of the tidying up.

What’s included:

  • A terracotta pot for decorating

  • A choice of seeds like dwarf sunflower to plant and grow

  • Access to acrylic paint pens and stencils (on loan)

  • Expert tips to help your young gardeners succeed

Please note: Acrylic paint pens may stain clothing, so we kindly recommend old clothes for your little Picassos.

Decorate a Bird Box

For a different way to get artistic this February half-term, why not bring your young nature enthusiasts to Webbs to create a home for garden birds.

In this creative and conservation-focused workshop, you can let your children’s imaginations take flight as they use acrylic paint pens and stencils to design and decorate their very own wooden birdbox, crafting a safe haven for local feathered friends. Once complete, they can take their birdbox home to hang in the garden and enjoy watching the birds settle into their new home.

This hands-on activity is perfect for children of all ages and offers a wonderful opportunity to teach them about wildlife conservation and caring for nature. And as always, we’ll handle the cleanup.

What’s included:

  • A wooden birdbox for decorating

  • Tips on where and how to place your birdbox

  • A guide to identifying visiting birds

  • Access to paint pens and stencils (on loan)

Please note: Acrylic paint pens may stain clothing, so we kindly recommend old clothes are worn.
