Adur & Worthing’s Environmental Health team are offering local small and micro-sized local food manufacturers a seminar covering topics such as the new allergen labelling requirements, food safety and other useful business-related issues like employment law and recruitment, getting financial backing and how to become an accredited supplier.
The seminar, aimed at local food businesses operating across Adur and Worthing, and particularly those who are looking to expand, is being held at Lancing Manor Leisure Centre on 29th September from 9.30am to 1pm.
For just £10 a ticket businesses can get some great advice from WSCC Trading Standards, Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA), the Adur & Worthing Environmental Health team, local solicitors Bennett Griffin and Worthing & Adur Chamber of Commerce; all experts in their field!
Paula Mitton, Food Team Leader for Adur and Worthing Councils, said: “Both Adur & Worthing councils are very much committed to supporting local businesses. This is a great opportunity for local food producers to update their knowledge and at the same time find out how they may wish to take their business forward.”
Dave Simmons, Adur District Council Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, added on behalf of both Adur & Worthing: “Our part of the South Coast can be rightly proud of its position as an important centre contributing to business and employment opportunities for food production. This seminar will give our vibrant local businesses the information they need to connect more strongly with their customers, as well as to grow their enterprises to the next stage.”
