Comic actor Damian Williams, best known for Sky1’s 'Are You Smarter Than Your Ten Year Old?', returns to the Connaught Theatre in Dave Freeman’s farce 'A Bedfull of Foreigners' which opens on February 28.
The two-act farce revolves around Stanley and Brenda who are on a driving holiday and need a room for the night in a small village near the German border on the eve of a local festival. They consider themselves lucky to have found a small hotel until Stanley finds himself alone, lowering an attractive girl, stark naked, from a bedroom window within an hour of checking-in.
The arrival of a saucy French cabaret artiste and the attractive girl's husband causes further chaos and by the second hour almost everyone is in the wrong bed, as seductions and confrontations run rampant.
The play was first performed in the West End with Terry Scott and June Whitfield in the lead roles and has since been performed throughout the world in more than a dozen languages and a film-version was released in 1998.
The mix of mistaken identities, double-booked bedrooms, inefficient staff and hasty cover-ups introduces a hotel filled with colourful characters including Heinz the singing hotel manager and Karak the drinking head porter.
