Well, it’s been two weeks of voting, bunting and typing to get all the reviews online and onto the love-o-meter….
Votes have been counted and verified, and without further ado, we can now reveal the winners of the Local and Loved Awards 2014!
The Most Loved Business in Wrexham is… Mecca Bingo!!
Mecca Wrexham received 151 votes, with its customers absolutely loving the friendly staff, good food and the chance to win!
Jackie R said “It's a great night out. Good food, good people and good bingo. What more could you want?” and Sue L said “This club is the best! The staff are helpful and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble for them and we have the best manager of all.”

Dragon Fitness was second with 115 votes, this is an awesome achievement as Dewi Campbell-Jones who manages Dragon Fitness works with only a small number of clients as a personal trainer. He also runs a bootcamp session at Acton Park. He has received some amazing reviews from his bootcampers, such as this from Helen D:
“Dewi is so motivating and always gives 100% to all his clients. He deserves to have the title of Wrexham’s best personal trainer because he is the best. Who would have thought that training could be fun? I would highly recommend Dewi...!!”
In third place was The Hollybush pub in Cefn-y-Bedd with 112 votes, where the motto is “If we can, we will – just ask!” The guest comment cards reflect the pub’s commitment to quality, consistency and value for money.
Julie E said “I am showing my love for the Hollybush! Excellent service as always. Excellent food. The Hollybush have friendly and happy staff always giving 110%!”
Sharon Tyrell, landlady at the Hollybush said “That’s amazing! We’re really pleased!”
National Awards
Wrexham businesses have also scooped National Local and Loved Awards, by receiving the most votes in their category!
Susan Miller from All Words Matter was first in the Copywriting category, with 43 votes.
Jo Edwards from Aballu Artisan Chocolatier - with 51 votes - has received second place in the Most Loved Confectionery category.
Dewi from Dragon Fitness has received third place in the Personal Trainer category and The Hollybush have received second place in the Public House category.
Try Thai noodle bar came third in the Thai Restaurant category with 25 votes.
Mecca Bingo was fourth in the Most Loved Venues and Events category.
Call Miss Jones were fifth in the Telephone Answering category.
THE Chinese Buffet (Bolton) was most loved Chinese restaurant with a whopping 1926 votes! We are so pleased to welcome them to Wrexham!
Awards Dinner
All winners will have the chance to receive their sparkly awards at our Awards Dinner on Friday 7th March at The Holt Lodge Hotel. All business owners are invited to join us, for a fun evening of dinner, entertainment and networking, with a charity auction for Nightingale House Hospice.
