I thought that it would be interesting to visit this new shopping complex on a normal weekday now that the Opening Ceremonies are over. First impressions were that pedestrian access is not as easy as I had thought it would be. There were very few cars in the massive car park, does any one know how many vehicles it will hold when everything is completed? Let's hope that lots of them will be filled with new visitors from out of town bringing their custom into Wrexham.
The new stores were all that you would expect, light, spacious and full of desirable merchandise. It may be because they are so spacious, but there didn't appear to be as many shoppers as I had expected. Does anyone have any knowledge of the footfall figures? Whilst I was there a young man, with a loudspeaker, and a cart of some description was positioned outside, between Marks and Debenhams, trying to give away packets of lightbulbs. Not one person made the short walk to avail themselves of this free gift. Funny old world isn't it?
Isn't it nice to be able to drive through town now that the roadworks have finished. So much cleaner too.
