Viv and I visited our daughter Natalie at her home in Twickenham last weekend. I knew that the upmarket town neighbours Richmond and Kingston were still thriving in the economic downturn, but I was keen to see what effect the recession has had on a more modest town in comparison to Wrexham.
Virtually every shop was occupied, there were no Closing Down Sale windows and a good head of shoppers were in the town. I'm sure that retail businesses have been affected but it was not apparent and I could not help but think that the North South devide was still very evident in Britain today.
After that we had a family visit to Woburn Safari Park, a splendid day out that rather ruined my personal economy!
