Morgan and I thoroughly enjoyed presenting 3 brilliant businesses with the title of ‘Wrexham’s Most Loved Business’ last week, as voted by you, the people of Wrexham!
Curves Gym, Aballu Artisan Chocolatier and Jolly Good Van Hire received the most votes in a national competition we ran back in February entitled ’14 Days of Love’.
The Award presentation took place on Thursday 9th May over lunch at the Holly Bush pub in Cefn-y-Bedd owned by Graeme and Sharon Tyrrell, who are also Members of thebestof Wrexham.
Councillor William Baldwin of Little Acton ward and owner of Mr B’s barber shop in Henblas Street, presented the awards and praised the businesses for the accolade, saying “It’s fantastic to have people like yourselves managing such successful businesses in Wrexham”.
Winner of the title of ‘Wrexham’s Most Loved Business’ with 153 votes and a national award for ‘Most Loved Business in category’ was Curves ladies-only gym at Borras Park. On receiving the awards, owner and manager Hannah Wright and her colleague Annie Lee thanked directors Morgan and Amanda for organising the competition. “It’s fantastic to be a part of thebestof community and to be able to receive awards, which really help us to measure our success”, enthused Hannah.
Second were Aballu Artisan Chocolatiers, based in Rossett. Jo Edwards, manager and chocolatier at Aballu who create handcrafted chocolates and truffles, was thrilled to receive a ‘Most Loved Business in Wrexham’ award for the fourth year in a row and a national award for ‘Most Loved Business in category’.
In third place for ‘Most Loved Business in Wrexham’ award and winner of the national award for ‘Most Loved Business in category’ were Jolly Good Van Hire from Pandy Industrial Estate. Ben Candy, Wrexham Operations Manager, received the awards and was very proud of what the business had achieved, with their expansion into the hire of camper vans and BMW Minis and their franchises opening across the UK, including in Shrewsbury and Telford.
