Will you VOTE for the project to happen?

Money seized from local criminals via POCA (Proceeds of Crime) and funds from the Police and Crime Commissioner are being made available for local communities to use on projects which will help cut crime and reduce anti-social behaviour. Each local authority area has been allocated £7k. Selected projects will go forward to a final public vote. Each winning project can receive a maximum of £3.5k.

If successful in obtaining the money, Groundwork North Wales have plans to use it to develop a SENSORY GARDEN at Alyn Waters, WREXHAM, which will help CHANGE PLACES & CHANGE LIVES!

Groundwork North Wales will work in partnership with Clwyd Alyn Supported Living Project (The Foyer and Hurst Newton), to provide a volunteering and learning opportunity for 15 young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming so.

During the project the young people will take part in the design and construction of a sensory garden at Alyn Waters Country Park. It is hoped they will learn new skills, gain and accredited qualification and widen their social contacts by engaging with the local community.
