As England prepare for their defense if the ashes urn, so does York lad Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow has been named in all of the last few England test squads and we wish him the best of luck in the upcoming tour in Australia. We are very proud of Jonny in York and we will be looking on every day and looking forward to seeing how he goes.
Jonny went to St Peter's school in York and even from an early age showed remarkable promise in the schools 1st xi. Looking at his school statistics, he seemed to score hundreds at will. Since school he has become a regular fixture in the Yorkshire side, scoring important runs as well as an incredible double hundred. He has played for England since 2011 making his debut vs India in a t20i.
He made his test debut vs the West Indies at lords and most notably made a 95 and a 50 in innings' at the famous old ground vs South Africa. He was also an integral part of the ashes win in the summer.
So good luck Jonny, you truly are thebestofyork
