8 local primary schools took part in a year 5 and 6 tag rugby tournament today at York sports club hosted by "rugby for all" leader Ian Thompson. The tournament was aimed to increase participation at all levels but particularly for girls. The teams consisted of 5 played and in order to increase female participation they needed to have at least 3 girls on each team. Each team played 5 matches and we're all contests in the right spirit. The winners were mayburn primary school. Other notable performances were from selby abbey primary school and alne primary school
