York city lost 3-0 away to Newport County in league 2 so will be looking to bounce back with a win in their midweek fixture this week.
York city Ladies continue a fantastic run by annihilating Redcar 8-0 in the county cup. Meg Bramham remarkabley scored 4 of these goals in a fantastic display of finnishing, she also went on to gain player of the match.
On a different note the Yorkshire Marathon took place in York this weekend and we would like to congratulate th 1000s of runners who took part and raised money for charity.
In rugby union, York Rufc had wins for all their 1sts, 2nds and 3rds as they continue to grow as a club. The 1sts came back to winning ways with a gritty 32-16 win vs Keighley, while the 2nds and 3rds both won comfortabley. York also hosted the Leeds Carnegie match vs Gala in the British and Irish cup, where Leeds won by 80 points.
Similarly St. Peter's school York won magnificently by over 50 points vs Ripon Grammar in their 1st game in the Natwest Cup.
