On 21 to 24 September, 2018, Milton Keynes will proudly host its second ever lit fest, a fabulous festival of books, words, writers and ideas. As part of that festival come enjoy a full line-up of storytelling and spoken word performance. Wordsmiths like Manchester’s own Shonaleigh, tellers from Northampton’s Storytelling at the Feast of Fools and Stony Stratford’s Terrie Howey will gather together to teach and tell, each from their own tradition of oral storytelling.
There is something for everyone this weekend. At Wycombe Swan is the highly entertaining Horrible Histories whilst in Amersham is the story of the Martyrs of Amersham. A great band night is on in the Arts4Every1 centre whilst award winning folk music is on in Chalfont St Peter. There are core strength yoga classes, the Chiltern Warrior Obstacle Course, Wycombe Wanderers at home to Stevenage. Finally a wedding fair at Wycombe Hights Golf Club and for inspiration you can't beat Mark Beaumont's - Africa Solo.
Sport, music, theatre (with dinner included), indoor boot fair and Michael Portillo are all happening this weekend in High Wycombe. Take a look below.

The kids are becoming excited as Christmas approaches and with only 2 more weeks to go before schools break up for the winter holiday. There are plenty of opportunities to take the children out this weekend as well as plenty of other events for everyone to enjoy.
At some point in your life you will have made a list, whether this be for shopping, household jobs or for duties to carry out during the working day. This is something we all have a go at, but rarely adopt it as a long term habit.
