We stayed in the Duke of Richmond as one of the only hotels in St Peter Port with spare capacity on Thursday 15 April when UK flights were grounded as a result of the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland. Although It is one of the more expensive hotels in St Peter Port,, it does not have any leisure facilities. The staff coped with a difficult situation where they did not know which guests would arrive on Friday by putting people on a reserve list to take cancelled rooms on a first come first served basis. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in the luggage room whilst we went to the airport to try and change our flights. We would not have stayed in this hotel by choice, but any port in a storm!

Went there with friends. The food is really good. I had a burger & it was amazing.. I managed to eat it all. The service was good & location is good. Close to Gory castle if you want to walk your meal off!
I would reccomend this restaurant. If there a minus it' can get a bit noisy as the ceiling is low. But that's the only negative.

Lovely restaurant - attentive staff and good menu and wine list. Tables too small.....four of us struggled to put everything on our little table and had to make use of an adjacent one. Fortunately at lunchtime there was plenty of space.

My husband and I, as real foodies, ate at the Bass and Lobster under the 'Tennerfest' menu and it was outstandingly good. The chicken liver parfait was to die for, the pork belly trio was lip smacking my good and as for the vanilla pannacotta well it was one of the best meals we have eaten in a long time anywhere. The service was excellent too and we left feeling spoilt and guiltily full. Thank you we had a lovely evening.

some residents at our hotel recommended this place and wow how fantastic it was, 5 star food and service agreed by all in our party. the "espatadas" meat on skewers arrived with a great selection of salads and vegetables to choose from, unfortunately we found this place a bit late in our holiday as would have definitely eaten there every night, highly recommended!! a little bit of class in

Despite living close by, never been to bass and Lobster. Having heard good reports we decide to try their tennerfest menu (not a tenner anymore! ) and for £15 we had a quite excellent meal - menu items well conceived, well prepared and well presented. Would have been happy with meal at normal restaurant prices.

I went to the Bass and Lobster for a girly lunch with the intention of getting the tennerfest.
The specials board looked so delicious we all ordered from the specials or al la Carter menu. I had the tuna to start and the bass and lobster for main, both of which were fabulous. Friends had the squid and scallops which looked lovely. There is a large range of home made ice cream including garlic or beetroot and horseradish which was fun to try.
The quality and portion sizes of the food was excellent and the service was just perfect. Cozy restaurant with well stocked bar.
Highly recommend this restaurant.

Lunched at B&L today to round off a fabulous foodie week in Jersey, in a way glad this was virtually our last meal on the island, as if it had been earlier in the week many of our other restaurants trips would have been cancelled to return to B&L!
The tennerfest looked amazing value at fifteen quid for three courses however we opted for the more expensive a la carte. I had the foie gras to start, a really good sized portion, very tasty and hugely satisfying. The "Lush" had chicken Caesar salad, generous portion, lots of delicious thigh meat and a real crowd pleaser.
For the mains I had the sea bass and lobster, crushed new potatoes. This was top notch cooking and was a joy to eat, proper food done well
