Just had a lovely meal with four friends. Only had two courses each from the set menu, but all was very nice indeed. Slight difference in portion sizes but that is a minor point.
On a personal note, creme anglais is custard and therefore should only be served hot!We should go here more often.

As we only live about a mile away, we consider this a local restaurant and so getting a Quids In voucher to eat there over March, we decided to go for a midweek dinner,
The seating was comfortable, the decor was nice and the two staff serving were always courteous and attentive. With regards to the food, the Quids In menu was certainly not an inferior one and our starters (fish cake/ falafel) and main course (tagliatelle/ bream) were well cooked, tasty and ample portions. If you like experimenting with flavours, ask them for their selection of ice creams and sorbets. I had the wasabi sorbet- a great creation but a step too far for me personally.
The only black mark on an otherwise lovely evening were our coffee liqueurs. Mine had a very acrid taste which totally overpowered rather than complimented the calvados and I think my wife had a similar experience. We didn’t bring it to the waitress’ attention but maybe a milder tasting coffee should be used when doing these liqueur mixtures in future.

It was warm hotel to stay, the friendly staff was always keen to help. Upon arrival they spontaneously upgraded our room. Whenever we came back from a long walk around the island, the room looked beautiful. The breakfast buffet was a good reason to wake up early :) and the pool temperature was also very nice, even at 7 pm in september.

The weather was very wet on the two days we stayed so we didn't get to try the outdoor pool but it looked good.

The room was a decent size and very comfy.

The breakfasts were excellent. Good range of choices very helpful waitresses & waiters.

Didn't eat dinner in the restaurant.

Helpful staff. Very quiet peaceful spot on the hill a short walk from town.

WiFi wasn't free. I do think this should be. Although it wasn't expensive as I recall.

We were delighted with our stay at this hotel. The staff are friendly, courteous and always willing to help. The room was very spacious with a lovely relaxing decor and a very comfortable bed. We ate several evening meals in the hotel which we found to be superb. Can't wait to go again!!

So I took fifty business friends for a three day Presidents visit.
It was faultless, they found the food & breakfast better than any site in the U.K.
Quality rooms with views to match, overlooking neighbouring Islands.
Superb location within walking distance of Town.

My husband and I picked this hotel from the internet and after phone calls with Marcus on reception, who was very helpful, made our reservations for four nights. We arrived Saturday afternoon to a very warm welcome. Our room (Midrange sea view) was lovely and very comfortable and clean. The restaurant menu was delicious and the breakfast was to die for. All the staff were so friendly and very attentive. Our thanks to Marcus, Jimmie, Katea, Alexander Olga and everyone just to mention a few but ALL we thank.
We will return and highly recommend this hotel.

An attractive and well maintained hotel where the management and staff combine the qualities of professionalism with friendliness. Our room was both comfortable and tastefully furnished with ample drawer and hanging space and generous tea/coffee facilities. Superior quality fittings and toiletries in the newly refurbished bathroom. Excellent breakfasts with superbly efficient and attentive service. Short walks to town, parkland, beautiful gardens and leisure centre made it perfectly appointed for exploring beautiful Guernsey. An enjoyable and memorable stay.

In our increasingly chaotic world, it is all the more appreciated when you arrive somewhere and, immediately, feel welcome. Guernsey is a particularly friendly place to begin with, but no where is the local hospitality better seen than at the Duke of Richmond. The first thing you notice when you arrive is that the staff is actually happy to see you. They are friendly and they are accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the services are extremely efficient and the food happens to be very good. The general manager, Stephen Purtill, is an old fashioned, hands-on "inn keeper" who shows that he cares by being very visible. He's right there to do whatever he can for his clients. And his "make our guests feel welcome" philosophy gives this hotel a five-star "thumbs up."/ Jeffrey Robinson
