We had a 2 night break at the OGH. The staff were warm and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay as special as possible. Ray the head waiter was a fountain of knowledge on the food and wine which were really delicious. The car hire on the Discovery Package was so easy,we just mentioned our name and the car was ready in minutes, a little Ford Ka which was perfect for the narrow roads. The room had a harbour view and a balcony. It was clean and beautifully appointed. We had a picnic lunch one day which was nicely packed, fresh and probably rather too much for the 2 of us. I had a massage in the Spa which was such a treat. The only slight down side was that many of the museums in Guernsey are closed in the winter months, opening at the end of March. The German Occupation Museum was open however and was very informative. The Guernsey people are lovely. Driving is very easy. Drivers are very courteous to each other. We will certainly be going back in the summer months.

Our second recent visit after a gap of 25 years, as always fantastic Hotel and staff, they couldn't do enough for us even surprising us with two birthday cakes and cards!! Spa facilities very good indeed, thoroughly enjoyed the "relaxing area". Breakfasts at Hotel were very high standard so bang went the diets for the duration of our stay! Looking forward to return visit.

We have just had 3 days break at the Old Government House (3 nights for 2) and have come home relaxed and fresh.
The Hotel and staff were second to none.
The rooms, food and people couldnt have been any better and made our stay one to remember.
In particular Harry and Dale (Managers) were always there to make sure everyone in the hotel were enjoying their stay.
Have already bought my mother in law a two day package for mothers day.
Once again cannot praise this hotel enough, well done to all at the OGH !!

This afternoon the OGH hosted an Afternoon Tea for 102 ladies fundraising for 2 charities - Nicki Wheetman and Diabetes UK (she is running the London Marathon for them) and my charity Bridge2. The service, quality of the tea and the helpfulness of the staff was second to none. I cannot praise them highly enough. Nicki and I were so so impressed with the whole package. The afternoon went with a swing and we have had many compliments.
So thank you OGH we WILL be back soon - if you will have us?

We went to St Peters Port for an event that we were co-hosting at the Old Government House Hotel. We stayed for one night and had lunch & dinner at the OGH. The hotel is welcoming and the staff are extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Our standard room was not large but was furnished to a high quality. The food was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait for an opportunity to return to the OGH.

Slightly eccentric decor took a little getting use too, but a warm and friendly greeting was maintained with excellent service throughout our two night stay. Having a last minute change of plans we did we turned up in a hire car that the manager was very helpful in helping us park. Wonderful breakfast with a great choice of different dishes which again was served with fist class service. When you grew accustomed to the décor the room was quite luxurious with tea & coffee and complimentary water; a lovely cosy feel. The only negative comment I could make was that the lifts were a little old fashion and small. St Peter Port’s town centre is within easy walking distance although the climb back might be challenging for some. We would love to return in the summer and make use of the pool and terrance.

I stayed at the Duke of Richmond recently for a few days on business. I can usually find fault somewhere, but not here. The comfiest bed I have ever slept in, fantastic food and, most importantly, every single one of the staff I spoke to had the most amazing, friendly, helpful attitude. I can honestly say that in 50 years of travel, this is the best overall hotel product (of any rating) in which I have had the pleasure of staying.
So good I am bringing my better half back for a week's holiday in the summer!

We visited the Duke of Richmond hotel in December to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is fantastic and all the staff are the most efficient and friendly that I have come across at any hotel we have stayed at. The Red Carnation Hotel Group believe in good old fashioned service and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. For breakfast there was an excellent choice, cooked to order and the restaurant at lunch and in the evening was outstanding. Everyone seemed to go our of their way to be friendly and helpful. We also ate in their sister hotel one evening, the Old Government House hotel, and the food was also excellent and would recommend that as well. It was our first experience staying at the Red Carnation hotel group and we will certainly use that group of hotels again. Thank you to all the staff who may our stay so enjoyable.

Thank you to all the brilliant staff at the Duke of Richmond for our perfect stay over Christmas. We had such a wonderful time. The whole experience was thanks to the friendliest and most professional staff you could hope to meet. Their attention to detail is faultless. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. We don't really want to single anyone out, but special thanks must go to Olga and Johal for their kind hospitality. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2015!

We stayed at the hotel over The New Year period and we could not have picked a better hotel. The facilities are wonderfully quirky, the Leopard Bar, the Zebra Lounge and the restaurant are all luxurious and nicely different to the standard decor you seem to get in hotels today. Our room was beautiful, well decorated and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The bathroom was, again following the theme, nicely luxurious.
The staff are what truly make this place special, the welcome from the reception team is warm and friendly without being over the top. They have great local knowledge so please ask for their recommendations, we did and they were all wonderful. The bar and restaurant team carry on the warm hospitality and make you feel so special. The food in the restaurant is fabulous and we ate here twice as a result.
Breakfast is the final cherry on the cake, omelettes made to order put my husband in 7th Heaven, nothing is too much trouble and even on New Year's Day the team were outstanding.
Our only regret us that we didn't join the New Years party in the hotel, choosing instead to go into the town. It sounds like we missed a great fun time and a wonderful band.
Thank you to everyone at The Duke, we were certainly made to feel like royalty at this wonderful hotel.
