Three of us called in for tea, We were shown to a wonderfully shaded table on the terrace. We all chose Earl Grey. The care and attention to detail was superb, attentive and charming service and delicious tea. I was pleasantly surprised that our teas together with some cakes and biscuits was a reasonable 7.50 pounds.

Superb breakfasts and dining menus and lovely lounges and gardens for early evening drinks. The outdoor pool was heated to about 28 degrees so taking a dip was always a pleasure and the loungers, sun shades and other facilities were first class.
We will certainly be back!

Outstanding hotel, lovely staff, gorgeous building, position & amenities. Heated outdoor pool, gin & whisky cocktail bar, afternoon tea salon, curry restaurant, brasserie, all highlights. Worth all 5 stars! 5 minutes to all the shops in the pedestrianised shopping area, another 5 minutes to the lovely harbour. Walk back up a slight hill, nothing too strenuous. Try The Catch restaurant on the harbour front, recently opened, booking essential, limited choice but all lovely, great Motown & Soul music in the background. Also The Slaughterhouse bar on the harbour - great little rooftop terrace, courtyard bar and huge space inside for lunch / drinks. The Occupation Museum is a £1 bus journey away on the number 91 bus, and after you've been, you can travel all the way round the island on the same 91 bus for £1 - takes around 90 minutes & allows you to pinpoint which of the lovely west coast bays you want to return to. We chose Vazon Bay, walking past Cobo, Saline & Soif bays before getting the bus back to St Peter Port - a good bracing day out by the sea with white sandy beaches, rock pools and surf cafes. The flowers all over Guernsey, and especially in St Peter Port were amazing and everyone was very welcoming and helpful to tourists.

This hotel and it's staff are just great. The food is of high quality. Rooms are beautifully presented.

The walk to town is a pleasure but hard work coming back unless an experienced walker.

Thank you to the General Manager and his team for a lovely stay. Special mention to Paul from the bar for his cocktails the wife enjoyed them.

We were visiting Guernsey for the first time, and were here for 4 days, during this time I was celebrating my birthday!! I have high expectations for hotels I stay in and am occasionally disappointed. The Duke of Richmond however, didn't disappoint, it exceeded my expectations, hugely!! The superior room we stayed in was large, bright and roomy adorned with a cute chandelier above the bed. Super clean room with lovely little extras. The hotel itself is SO elegant with a really stunning reception. The main reason this hotel is EXCEPTIONAL is the staff. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, they were ALL bright friendly and cheerful ( we were there for 4 days and it never changed). They found out it was my birthday and so when we returned to our beautiful room, after cycling round the island all day, a beautiful little cake decorated with fruit and happy birthday written in chocolate was sitting on the table and an even sweeter touch was a birthday card signed by every member of the concierge/ reception team!! It was full of signatures. We ate in their restaurant twice and again, the blond maitre d was utterly charming and professional every time!! Gorgeous Irish waiter who served us, was a delight!! Thank you The Duke of Richmond and your AMAZING staff. Due to how you treated us, we will MOST definitely return and would recommend this hotel to the most discerning of travellers. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Recently visited this fun and well presented hotel with it's eclectic mix of decor. First impressions on entering the hotel are dominated by the checker board flooring, accompanied by the sparkle of glass and silverware leading up to a central reception desk where a warm welcome awaited us. Our travel arrangements had already created a challenging start to our time in Guernsey as we had been due to start our stay in Sark but due to poor weather had to swap the first part of our holiday around. The hotel were able to deal with this in a flexible and efficient manner, accommodating the varying requirements of all 9 of us!
Following check in we located our well appointed 3rd floor room, which was a very good size, decorated with opulent blue striped walls, a large, very comfortable bed, seating area and good sized bathroom. All clean and tidy with the addition of tea and coffee making facilities. Prior to arrival we had requested an iron and ironing board along with feather pillows and this had not been overlooked.
The dining experience at the hotel is also to be commended and we enjoyed the safari chic themed Leopard Bar as our pre meal meeting place. Again the staff were friendly and obliging, offering suggestions of the wines and beers that might tempt us! In the comfortable and spacious restaurant we took advantage of the tennerfest menu on offer and were not disappointed with the quality of the food provided. The same can be said for the variety of options available for breakfast which has something to suit most tastes, no excuses for feeling hungry here! In summary, I can thoroughly recommend this hotel which is close to the centre of St Peter's Port yet in a quiet and attractive area and would happily visit it again.

The hotel is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff are lovely and really helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great.

The only downside was that the bedroom was really, really cold at night.

We have just stayed at the DoR for the 4th time and we have always felt welcome, at home and comfortable. We have stayed in a variety of bedrooms, from a classic double to a suite with balcony and each time it has been special. A ten out of ten for everyone who works at the DoR but a very special mention must go to Olga who manages the restaurant - she is always helpful, attentive and welcoming. The DoR is our first port of call, whenever we visit this lovely Channel Island.

For anyone looking for a warm welcome when in Guernsey, make sure you visit and stay at The Duke of Richmond hotel. Norbert and his team go above and beyond to ensure his guests and visitors are happy.

Everyone on Reception are friendly and helpful. Dianna, Aaron, David are just a few of the friendly faces who have made us feel like we are at a home away from home.

Olga always ensures a pleasurable meal is enjoyed in the restaurant. Her attention to detail is exceptional. As we are both Vegetarian she went out of her way to ensure the chefs put on a variety of Specials so we had something different to choose from (we stay frequently and have worked our way through the menu Vegetarian options).

I opted for a tasty Spinach tortellini and my Partner enjoyed the Halloumi Burger and fries. The chef on duty was Alan and he definitely loves to cook! Our meals were perfect and very tasty.

The hotel is dog friendly, as they are part of the Red Carnation Hotel Group. We are always blown away by how much they love our Boston Terrier, Sidney and he is always treated like a VIP.

So, when I say everyone can expect a warm welcome... I do mean everyone!

Thank you all for another brilliant stay.
