A superb meal for an affordable price (£15 for the daily menu, starter, main course, dessert). Very welcoming staff. Well done!

Highly recommend this for amazing fresh seafood.
The menu is interesting and varied. We enjoyed the complimentary house bread (beetroot, chilli and ginger with a truffle and beetroot spread and Jersey butter) while waiting for our meal. We had two mains and the truffle parmesan chips as an extra side. The lobster was delicious, as were the scallops with crispy thick smoked pancetta - we thoroughly enjoyed these main dishes and they are signature items at this restaurant.
We also enjoyed a dessert of creme brulee with blackcurrant sorbet, which finished off the meal perfectly.
This restaurant is not one to miss!

Post lockdown we were able to visit our family on Jersey. The first evening on the island was spent in the Bass and Lobster. After so little dining out it turned out to be an excellent experience.
Lively, informal, busy. Laughter, glasses and cutlery clinking. The sounds of fun.But this place isn't just about fun. Our food was very good indeed. No fine dining pretensions - simply good produce, well prepared and presented with style.
Starters were temptingly tasty I chose ham hock terrine with three types of piquant mustard, my wife went with oysters. Playing safe I followed with fish and chips. The fish was plaice and came with a surprise trio of tartare sauce, curry sauce and mushy peas. Delicious and extremely filling. You won't regret an evening spent in this successful restaurant.

We visited the Bass and Lobster on 22nd June 2021. What a lovely welcome we received from the wife of the chef. She was enthusiastic about the food and very caring. The menu is extensive and mostly fresh Jersey produce, including hand dived scallops and line caught fish.
We chose the set menu of 3 courses, which also included home made bread, their special flavoured olive oil dip, beetroot humous and the most enormous olives I have seen. All extra than the 3 courses. At the end of our meal we had coffee and tea, plus home made chocolates, also included.
An excellent meal and a very pleasurable experience. I will certainly be going again.

As this was our third trip to Jersey, wanted to try somewhere new and found this place with some great reviews. We were staying in St Helier and make good use of the Liberty Bus service so booked in for dinner.
The food was delicious with great choices on both the a la carte and specials. Hubby started with roly poly and custard which was actually bacon with chilli jam and hollandaise. The plate was cleared. I had southern fried scallops of the specials menu and boy were they special. The perfect blend of spice with the sweetness of the scallops.
Mains were monkfish with Bombay potatoes and curried cauliflower - again a wondrous combination of fish and spice. The other was sea bream and lobster tempura with jersey potatoes and another triumph of delicate flavours.
Followed the local jersey potatoes with local strawberries and smoked meringue as intrigued by description and the smoky flavour matched perfectly with the sweet ripe berries. This normally comes with basil chantilly cream but I’m not a fan of basil so this was replaced with home made vanilla ice cream which worked beautifully with the other flavours.
A nice choice of wine by the glass was appreciated too as hubby is a beer drinker.
Service was efficient and friendly and the restaurant was busy with groups of various sizes. So if you’re heading to Jersey, get on the phone and book and check out the bus times of the number 1 bus to Gorey for the best of Jersey produce.

We popped in for some shade and a cool drink. Stayed and had just the best 3 course lunch menu.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was superb and excellent value.

We visited on a Saturday night to a lovely friendly welcome, the staff could not be more accommodating and friendly. We had been looking forward to going especially since we never got the opportunity on our last visit to Jersey. Sometimes when you’ve waited so long and bigged something up it’s never quite how you expected - well not on this occasion it was better🥰 the food is beautifully served and every mouthful a delight. Thank you to you all for a memorable evening.

Once again this place has come up with the goods.
From being greeted like old friends to being “ treated” to home made ice cream ( and I don’t do sweets) everything this lunchtime was right on point.
Kirsty, Dave, and Fran were great hosts, and every course was special. Not using that word lightly as the amuse bouche did just that! And the sweetbreads for starter need a review all of their own. Sublime. The local lamb was nothing short of the best lamb probably served on the island today! This husband and wife team deserve all the accolades that come their way as they know how to produce and serve hospitality at its best. Great food and great team. See you again soon.Miles and Sharon. Incredibly attentive staff, and wildly accommodating of dietary restrictions. We had vegetarian and gluten free requirements which were met with delicious substitutions. Food is creative, fun, intricate but each dish is well portioned and phenomenal value for money. You shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit!
