A great place to stay. There has clearly been a lot of money spent on refurbishment over the last year or so, but it has been money well spent. I have spent many nights in its sister hotel, the Old Government House, but this is much better value. The staff are welcoming and very helpful, the service in the restaurant is terrific and the rooms are very comfortable. The swimming pool is smallish, but does the job. It's location is a minor problem, being at the top of a rather steep hill, but it's well worth the effort.

Me, my husband, my sister and her husband stayed there from the 8/09/12 to the 10/09/12. And this is by far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The service of all staff was faultless. Very friendly. The hotel was perfect and I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to guernsey. 10 out of 10!

Hotel has been totally revamped. Rooms are quite plush and the bed was excellent - I had a great night's sleep. Decor is different and in parts reminded me of 1920's Parisian style.

Only real gripe was the shower - plenty of hot water but no thermostatic control.

The Duke of Richmond is just in the final stages of a full refurbishment so any reviews relating to the quality of the building prior to 2012 should be ignored. Clearly a good deal of money has been spent on it. It's a little quirky which is to my taste but maybe not all. If you want bog standard business hotel then this is not it. What you do get is an interesting design and great staff some of whom have been there for 20+ years.

Rooms are not big but more than adequate and well appointed. Bathrooms were spotless just as they should be.

The bar and dining room were busy and well staffed. The menu was not over complicated and not fine dining (you can go to the sister Old Government House hotel for sophisticated food). The Duke of Richmond is more steaks and classic dishes but produced very well and a with a bit of flare.

We had a fight off the island to Alderney at the crack of dawn. The staff offered a super early room service breakfast and made sure the taxi was there on time.

Will certainly stay here again.

Whilst in Jersey if you get chance go to the Bass & Lobster Food House, you will not be disappointed.
The food is delicious and the service is second to none. The restaurant has a lovely feeling and great ambiance. The specials board had an amazing choice of fresh fish. I was lucky enough to have dinner with a close friend we both could not get past the lobster tempura with Asian slaw which was as good as we thought it was going to be. I had Monkfish cheeks and he had a burger with black pudding both were delicious and we were swapping food like an old married couple!Make room for sweets - they are great and should not be missed.
To top it all the head chef and owner is Welsh (but I am biased) and his lovely wife looks after the serving side and is so welcoming!Great value and couldn't fault it.

We ate there for dinner and when my main course arrived after a couple of bites i realised that it was not cold but the mains were relatively cool--spoke to the manageress and seven minutes later it arrived piping hot and excellent. We both thought that the fod and service demanded a 5 star review.

We found The Bass and Lobster on trip advisor while holidaying at Rozel Bay and picked it because it was one of the highest rated restaurants outside of St. Hellier. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and genuinely seemed to want us to enjoy our dining experience. The menu choice was very good and all the dishes were excellent. There is limited car parking outside but there are car parks within easy walking distance. A great find that I would definitely recommend.

Visited on a Wednesday evening and was lucky to get a table.
£20 for a main starter of scallops, which were beautifully presented and delicious. The menu even had the diver’s names on. You can’t get much more locally sourced than that!
Tried some home made ice cream for dessert - horseradish, beetroot and truffle! Amazing!

Arrived a little late due to no parking available but needn't have worried. Excellent choices available and tasty food served by friendly and efficient staff. Another fine Jersey restaurant.

At last we’ve eaten at The Bass and Lobster and were delighted with our food which was beautifully presented and quite delicious. Their 3 course week day lunch for £15 pp is great value .
Loved the many varieties of ice cream and sorbets on offer - especially the gin and tonic one!
