Had a meal here and enjoyed it very much. Arrived around 8pm without a reservation but were kindly fitted in and promptly shown to a table. Menu was extensive and quite unusual with fish and seafood being the main choices. Good food good ambience.

We had booked a table for lunch yesterday and on arrival were greeted very warmly by the lovely Anna with a glass of excellent Provence Rose and a basket of complementary homemade bread and butter. We chose the £15 midweek set lunch menu and what amazing value this menu is. The food is delicious and quality superb. I chose fishcake to start, the pork as a main and homemade blackberry & thyme icecream. The homemade sorbet and icecream menu is laid out on a large blackboard and takes some choosing. The choice is immense. Highly recommended

We absolutely loved this place, from the outside you would think it was an average looking restaurant, it most certainly isn't. The staff were so lovely and friendly, the food was out of this world, literally the best meal we've had out ever, the only time that would match this was on a 6 star cruise we went on. We loved this place so much we went twice in our week stay. we were given a taster size starter on the house as they acknowledged we visited 2 days previous. They offer the main menu along with 1, 2 and 3 course set menu, great value, 3 courses was £25. I had the same for main course on both occasions as so nice which beer battered catch of the day. Yummy.
I would definitely go back there without any hesitation, it was like a Michelin star restaurant and service, massive compliments to the chef and waiting staff.

Not to be underestimated, the outside may look a little plain. The food inside most definitely isn’t. Fabulous food and fantastic service. Capped off by an eclectic selection of home made ice creams and sorbets. Who knew Cheddar Cheese and Thai Red Curry ice cream would even work. You’re in for a treat.

Just a short three night break with the wife. Wanted a quiet relaxing time and that's what we received. The room was great, service was great and hotel standards really high. Thanks for a good time.
We took dinner in the hotel restaurant two of the nights and had great meals and service to the highest standards. We would recommend this hotel.

We had a dinner in the Leopard Restaurant.
The location is nice, the inside is mostly open space and it looks good and clean.
The personnel is friendly, helpful and attentive. We've had a good red wine and also they have a big wine list.
I've had a generous Caesar Salad like starter and for main course i`ve ordered Rib eye steak with blue cheese sauce and mashed potatoe, that was very delicious.
This place is great if you want a nice tasty dinner with friends - I'll definitely come back.

We visited Guernsey last weekend and stayed over one night at the Duke of Richmond. Before booking we were trying to decide between the OGH and the Duke of Richmond (both Red Carnation Hotels) and selected the Duke on the recommendation of our son who had dined there. We travel extensively in different parts of the world but the service we received here was outstanding and probably one of the best anywhere. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed drinks in the uniquely decorated Leopard Bar followed by an excellent dinner in the Leopard Restaurant. We really wished we had booked two nights.

We had a standard room which was a little small but very comfortable with good quality toiletries in the well-appointed bathroom.

Free wifi was very much appreciated and more hotels need to offer this as these days most people travel with an iPad or laptop.

There is a lovely outdoor patio next to the breakfast area which would be a wonderful place to sit out and enjoy drinks and meals in the summer.

We visit Guernsey regularly to see our son and his family and will definitely return to stay at the Duke next time. We also plan to check out some of the Red Carnation hotels in other locations.

We stayed for one night in November and would have stayed longer if they'd had availability. They are updating lots of rooms and this had affected the number of rooms available but we stayed in a newly refurbished room and it was lovely. Very comfortable bed, good size tv, stunning bathroom and best of all the wifi was free and really worked at a fast speed. There were a few design issues (such as you couldn't really see in the mirror whilst using the hairdryer!) but we pointed these out to reception as we left so hopefully they've been rectified now.

We ate in the Restaurant too and the food was fine and service exceptional. The breakfast was as good as any top hotel we've stayed in too. We will return.

I spent 3 nights a week on business in Guernsey for 6 months from June to December 2012. I had the option of staying at any hotel on the island, and having checked out the competition, found myself always returning to the Duke. The reasons are simple: 1) It has the most attentive and polite staff of any hotel I stayed at - Olga and Carina do sterling work in the restaurant whilst Orlando runs the bar with great charm and enthusiasm. And the staff on reception were always tremendously friendly and helpful. 2) the rooms are nicely done up, but most importantly clean and very comfortable - so comfortable that I have been forced to contemplate buying a better bed and mattress at home. 3) Some of the top end competition on the island regard themselves as a cut above everyone else, and there is a definite arrogance that pervades the place. You don't get this feeling with the Duke. A very friend, clean and comfortable place to stay. I hope to be back soon!

My partner and I have just got back from an overnight stay in this fantastic hotel
we booked a special news years eve dinner dance, overnight stay and breakfast. We at present live and work here but wanted to do something special and it certainly was. Firstly we were upgraded to a sea view room with window seat overlooking Sark, the room was stunning and attention to detail incredible. All the staff from the porter- lovely Irish chap, the receptionist- yorkshire lass, maitre- French, waitors- Spanish, Portuguese were friendly, helpful and even after a late long night working, greeted us for breakfast cheerfully. The food was superb, plenty of it and excellent quality considering the numbers catered for, the restaurant decorated beautifully, great band, a fantastic night, best new years eve ever!! we met some lovely people too. Breakfast was wonderful and we were told not to rush out of our fantastic room.
Cant praise the Hotel, staff and facilities enough. The Duke of Richmond should be very proud of what it has created on Guernsey and I would recommend it to anyone, we will be back again and again. It has a 4 star rating with a 5 star delivery in all aspects.
