Hotel quirky in terms of design; staff wonderful, very attentive, highly efficient and professional.hotel spotless. Only negative was the fact that our room was quite small but this a minor issue in overall experience. Food superb; breakfast cooked to order, great choice.

From the moment we walked through the door, all the staff couldn't do enough for us. Aaron on reception gave us some great cake-hunting tips, Orlando the restaurant manager was charming and accommodating every night, Marieta and Olga in the restaurant were ever attentive to our every need, we could go on... And this is before we have even talked about the hotel itself, which was of a very high quality and the room was not only well appointed but had a heavenly and enormous bed. Full marks, well deserved.

Took a five day break here with family in early September. This hotel is recently refurbished and level of decor and condition of the facilities is superb. Staff very friendly and helpful. Effective and efficient establishment which does what it says on the packet. Thoroughly recommend by me.

We had a Deluxe Afternoon Tea here yesterday. It was superb. Large choice of tea to drink ( I had a keemum type, strong and gorgeous ), sandwiches, scones and cakes. We ate in the garden on a beautiful day which added to the enjoyment.
The only cake I wasn't too keen on was a red sponge which my friend said was Red Velvet, an American sponge. Not to my taste but everything else was. Thank you. OGH. Very, very pleasant staff as usual too.

Our first visit to this marvellous hotel will not be our last. In fact we are planning on making this a place to return to two or three times a year. The service from making initial enquiries, to the warmest welcome on arrival, the care received in every department during our visit to our departure was beyond expectation. Every meal was a delight, the menu was imaginative. and the quality of the ingredients were first class. We thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be made to feel that they are a welcome guest for the whole of their stay. It is extremely difficult to choose members of staff to highlight for their service as each and everyone made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. But in fairness we would give a special mention to Ula in reservations, who was the one in patiently helped us get to the hotel despite bouts of illnesses which made us cancel our reservations twice.

Stayed for two nights here in a sea view room which was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable as we're the chairs. Would have liked some cushions for the balcony chairs but it was nice to have a small outside area. Ate in the Brasserie which was good. I had a crab salad to start which was huge but the other half had the scallops which was a very small portion even for a starter. We both had the rack of lamb for main which although very tasty local lamb was overcooked. We did make a point about this to the waiter who agreed that it was overcooked. Despite this we were charged full price for it, perhap a complimentary drink might have been a nice touch. Breakfast was good smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious. I need to have gluten free food and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful with gluten free bread available at meals. The only strange thing was that we were given a voucher for complimentary drinks at the bar, double room you would have thought a drink each, no only one drink. It is a very comfortable hotel but that is what you are paying for and the staff are courteous and helpful. Would certainly look forward to staying again.

The OGH Hotel was the best place I stayed on my recent tour of Scotland, Guernsey, and London.
Members of the staff were courteous and friendly at all times and extremely helpful, even remembering to bring a slice of lemon the second night I had the crab salad; my room was beautiful and spacious; the food at breakfast and dinner was fresh and delicious; the hotel's location is good for making small excursions on foot into town and to nearby attractions such as the Candie Gardens.

Spent four days on business ,and Two days with my wife the receptionist I found extremely helpful ,and should get an award from the Guernsey tourist board ,room was very clean and good size , I found the breakfast to much for me ,from the barman to the waitress I found them very friendly ,the brassiere I found compared to the over priced London Brassieres very good value ,my wife had the lamb which she found very over cooked ,and it did take a while to rectify ,I had to wait for my wife to receive her replacement lamb, it took a waitress a good Five minutes to realise I had stopped eating ,so my meal was replaced ,we did receive two glasses of wine.
As I was in Guernsey to buy property's , I will be staying in hotels ,will I be staying here yes ,for the food in the brassiere no .

We chose this hotel for a break to Guernsey because it offered the comfort and ambiance that we look for when we travel. It did not disappoint and although arriving too early for our room to be ready, we took a tour of the hotel and left our bags and explored the town. Our room was ready on our return after lunch. We had booked into the Sark Suite which was lovely and spacious - two bathrooms, separate lounge, large bedroom and plenty of storage space for our clothes. Thick fluffy towels and beautifully embroidered sheets were spotless. We had two balconies and it was lovely to sit in the sunshine looking out over the harbour to Herm and Sark. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of variety (the biggest and juiciest blackberries I have ever eaten) and the hot breakfasts cooked to perfection. We had a lovely dinner there on the first evening. The staff were immaculately dressed, very courteous and always helpful. They gave the impression they enjoyed working at OGH and were proud to be part of its heritage. The hotel is a little like a rabbit warren and there are lots of little nooks and crannies you can tuck yourself away to read etc. We used the services of the concierge to book a trip to Sark and several taxis. It is very rare that we go away and don't have one or two niggles about something wrong with either the staff or the hotel but on this occasion I can honestly say OGH was perfection. Just wish we could have stayed a little longer. But there is always the next time!!
