It is truly refreshing to experience so much attention to detail from ALL the staff with whom we engaged during our stay. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, the attentiveness from staff was a delight to see and we will certainly be back given half a chance. The bed we had was the most comfortable we have ever slept in, so much so that I really need to know how to buy one just like it. Super large with sumptuous duvet, pillows and crisp, monogrammed linen. Why can't we buy this standard of linen for home use? Monogrammed fluffy towels too, complimentary water and a usable fridge with fresh milk on request. Wonderful food and a large glass wall to the kitchen so you can watch the chefs working away, all in apparent calmness. There are no Gordon Ramsay style outbursts or panic sessions here, things just work extremely smoothly. This hotel has gone up to second in our all time favourite list, beaten only by the Executive Floor of the Shangri La hotel in Chengdu, China.

Red Carnation Hotels are synonymous with "no detail is too small that it should not be given full attention and be the best it can be." I had not seen the hotel prior to becoming part of this superb boutique hotel chain, but I understand that it was quite a feat to turn it into the small jewel box that it is now. The staff, as with all Red Carnation properties, is simply the best you can find - super attentive, friendly, smiling and genuinely caring. Each staff member makes it their mission to ensure that your stay is not only as comfortable and enjoyable as can be, but also memorable. And my stay at the Duke of Richmond was all of that and some. The hotel is nicely located across from a park and a nice and easy walk to the city center. Its boutique-style makes it very attractive and a perfect fit for this picture-perfect island. The rooms are extremely well appointed and every single detail has been carefully thought and taken care of. From the complimentary bottled water, and yes: both still and sparkling water!, to the card wishing you a good night and giving you the weather for the days to come, accompanied with a small, tasty night treat. The bedding is beyond top-rate and ensures a perfect night's sleep; the bathrooms while smallish (this is an older building) have been so carefully planned that they feel twice their size. This is a romantic hotel, so if you are traveling alone, the downside is that it will make you long for your partner to be sharing your experience at the Duke of Richmond ;-)
I encourage everyone to stay at any of this small boutique hotel chain and I challenge anyone to find a fault in the quality of their accommodation and services!

Exellent service from all staff, especially big thankyou to Hilario for all his help in organising our big day. Cant recommend the hotel enough, everything went like clockwork and nothing was too much trouble. Food was superb. Standard of cleanliness was faultless. Totally relaxing experience, we stayed an extra few days. Special thanks to Aaron and James for being so kind and helpful to my elderly parents.

The service at this hotel was excellent. There was always someone close by to deal with requests.
The room was very clean and well equipped. We were warned of possible noise from functions on both evenings of our stay but heard nothing on either night.
We ate in the hotel on our first night and the food was so good we did the same on the second night.
We would both highly recommend the steaks.
Portion sizes are huge so we were unable to manage 3 courses.
We will definitely be returning here.

I have been staying at The Duke or Richmond over the last few days. Guernsey is beautiful even when it gets colder, the wind blows and the water is wintery, especially if you are wrapped up and on arrival back to your hotel a nice warm mulled wine with a home made mince pies are waiting for you. Perfect.

A lovely hotel with a style of its own, not what you would expect of Guernsey but fun.The hotel as you would expect is spotlessly clean the service is attentive and friendly and yet very professional. We were shown to our room by a young man, my word what he new about every aspect of our room, the air con/ heating, the TV, type of bed ,pillows anything you always wanted to ask about he new, Wonderful. Quiet room, great bed and blackout curtains. I slept like a log.

Delightful breakfast, loved the tomatoes. The bar and restaurant are spacious and stylish a very pleasant place to spend some time.

All together a very nice stay in a great hotel on a wonderful Island.

Having only stayed 3 previous nights we have been welcomed back as though old friends.
Lovely bar, good dinner, perfect breakfast, all in town.
5* service delivered with that elusive alchemy of warmth and courtesy.
The only place we will stay in Guernsey.

We returned again to enjoy the New Year Eve festivities and stay the night and had another great evening and night. The staff at the hotel are always excellent in our experience, as is the food. The band were excellent also.

Our son and his fiancé joined us with their dog. There was a small charge for Alfie, but he was really well looked after with his own bed and certificate and they gave them a larger room to accommodate!

OGH has an enviable location looking out to sea in St Peter Port. The building is something of a labryinth but is tastefully decorated and furnished- and a sea view room is worth the extra cost. The food served in the Braserie was really excellent with "Arthur's Curry" and "Hand chopped salad" worthy of special mention. However all this is secondary to the multi-lingual staff who were excellent in every respect. They went the extra mile to ensure we were well looked after for the four days we stayed at OGH. The service made this comfortable hotel feel special. We will now try other hotels in the Red Carnation group!

Great stay here for a of couple nights with my wife and friends on a business trip.

Excellent standard of rooms, the beds are huge and very comfy. I'm normally fussy as I love my bed.

The Resturant and service was brilliant. We had a large group for dinner and the attention from the staff was perfect at all times.

Would definitely stay here again when we are back on the island
