I have to agree with the others this is a First Class Hotel, faultless staff effortlessly helpful.Always willing to assist and very helpful on places to visit and how to get there. The only downside is the Hotel is at the top of quite a steep hill. A nice park on the way up and down to break the journey but if you are not very good at walking I would suggest you use a taxi for the five minute journey. The diningroom is well worth booking for evening meals reasonably priced for Guernsey

This is a hotel that goes the extra mile. I was in Guernsey for a 36 mile race and the hotel could not have been more helpful. They provided a Good Luck card and cake the day we arrived and then after I had run the race they provided complimentary soft drinks, fruit and ice cream. The rooms were really good - only downside was we had three steps in our room from the bed area to the bathroom - after 16 miles of hills these were a challenge! They provide a fridge, cold milk on request and the room was well cleaned. All the staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was good - although it was included, I am not sure I would have paid for it separately as it was expensive. The w-fi was a little slow - but this might be an island problem.

Tonight is my third night here. I don't usually write a review whilst I'm still on holiday. The hotel is lovely and the breakfast is very good. But what can I say about the staff? I've stayed in loads of hotels and the staff here might just possibly be the best I've ever met. Friendly and attentive, they help to create a special atmosphere at the hotel. I've really enjoyed staying here. I hope the boss and the mangers appreciate the staff they've got!

This is a well run hotel that was spotlessly clean with friendly and efficient staff. For me it was a little bit too old fashioned and fussy but that's a personal thing and not the fault of the hotel.

Good things:
Excellent breakfast
Great bathroom with robes and slippers
Quiet location for a town
Spotlessly clean
Efficient and friendly staff

Bad:
A 20 minute steep walk uphill from town
Very limited parking - 5 spaces
Air con unit placed in such a way that it made you cold in bed
Bar meal choice very limited
Wifi was awful
Bedroom a little small for the price and cluttered

Overall still a good hotel but would not return.

Our first stay in Guernsey and at this hotel. We loved it! The staff were kind, friendly and helpful and the hotel was immaculate. The management should be very proud of their staff.
The hotel is at the top of a long hill and for the first three days we puffed and panted our way to the top, but by day four we made it without difficulty! Just a matter of fitness really. Taxis are relatively cheap and worth it if you have eaten too well in the town.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Leopard Bar is a hidden gem - and it's in this hotel! There is also a lovely, large terrace overlooking a pool and is a very pleasant place to be
Loved Guernsey. The people are very proud of their island - and it shows.

Brilliant - well worth a visit :-)
Staff were very friendly and more than happy to help.
The afternoon tea came out on the most fabulous picnic bench - and we ate the lot - loved it :-)
Would definitely recommend!

Hotel needs a serious refurbishing, possibly ( after reading other reviews) we stayed in the OLD wing. Very tired, the only way to describe our room decor is : Alice in Wonderland on speed who went back to 70ies?? Fabric on the walls... badly stained walls due to air con leak ( grey huge monstrosity on the wall ). very old fashioned carpet, old fashioned looking and very tired doors ( opearated by Key not card... lock very dodgy). Having said that, the bathroom looked refurbished in last few years although it is already falling apart, doors falling off hindges if you try to open the bathroom cupboard ( this sort of thing). now the good things: STaff is lovely and very helpful. Food in restaurant really good ( well done ot the chef). Waiting staff is helpful, cooked breakfast was wonderfull - we tried several things from the menu and it was really really good. Continental selection disappointing , quality or display are just not there - definitely work for improvement. Bed in our horribly old fashioned stained room was fabulous. really good comfortable matterace. Good quality sheets . room on a small side and they put coffee/tea making facilities in the wordrobe, all quite odd. Would i stay there again ? Although we had a fairly comfortable stay, maybe, not sure, i would probably like something more modern next time. Location wise - if you are walking - it is on the top of the hill so a bit of a climb each day. we didnt mind it.

Very nice, clean, well appointed hotel with reasonably proportioned rooms. Excellent restaurant serving great breakfasts, although evening meals are quite expensive. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Room was good with tea/coffee usable WiFi. Had a staircase (3 steps) which could be a problem. Staff really helpful. Food excellent, the decor of the restaurant is not to my taste. Location is really good, 10 minute walk (steep) to the main St Peters Port area (but through Candie gardens). A bit noisy Friday night, but the rest of week was very quiet

We stayed 5 nights in this excellent hotel. 3 nights were as part of a large group. The hotel staff were very helpful & friendly. They were hard pressed because of our group of eighteen friends, whilst also preparing for two weddings, yet they coped very well & the staff remained helpful & cheerful throughout.
