I went here for drinks with an old friend of mine, and we were joined by another later on.
I used to reside nearby to this very old Inn, and always drank here for many years. It has changed somewhat over the years, and is now more Restaurant than old Inn.The two young members of staff on the bar, one a young lady who appeared to be in charge, and the other a young man really were very efficient and very helpful. I understand that both of them are about to depart their jobs here, which in my opinion will be a great shame, and the management here will find it hard to replace people like this.

We were lucky enough to revisit this wonderful pub and restaurant recently. My husband and I had rented a cottage for a romantic weekend in the village years ago and had memories of a gorgeous meal at The Crown and I'm happy to say that nothing has changed. Beautifully decorated, crisp white linen napkins and stunning glassware always makes me happy but coupled with a superb menu and fabulous food and the lovely village setting, this place is a slice of Heaven. But what makes it even more memorable are the charming professional staff. Knowledgeable about the food that they are serving and enthusiastic too. Can't wait to go back. I just wish it wasn't two hours away!

Visited here on Saturday lunchtime, perfect place to stop on bike ride.
Located in quiet and picturesque suffolk village. The crown is a lovely big traditional pub with a large beer garden and courtyard area, with childrens play area. Like the other three sister pubs (cadogan, beer house and one bull) the own brewed beer is great. Me and my friend both went for sanwhich and chips i had egg mayo and my friend the BLT, both very good.
Pub is well worth a visit, and i will return soon.

We visited the Crown whilst on holiday in Suffolk with some great friends of ours . We had dined at the Crown several years ago and was looking forward to this occasion. Good selection of ales including two from a micro brewery. I thought that the food menu was very limited. The menu is not for those whom are not adventurouls. The food was nicely presented and cooked .we did though have to ask about missing items from one of the meals Broad beans was one of the vegetables listed with the meal these were missing. When pointed out a small bowl of peas where brought to the table. Did not complain about this has other people in the party's meals where going cold. The portions are small if you don't have the three course. I class myself has an average size meal portion eater I needed the three courses, or i have the need to order extras whilst, in most restaurants I only have two.

I have eaten here twice now & have enjoyed the evening very must, its a shame the locals don't seem to go in very often they don't know why they are missing. My only comment was the desert i chose the tasters which i found very disappointing choices need to be lighter desserts to many what i call heavy desserts.

We have visited this lovely pub restaurant twice recently, once as a couple for a quiet meal and once with family. Food is lovely and the staff are fantastic, very attentive and friendly. Our second visit coincided with the beer festival which was greatly enjoyed. I am sure we will be visiting The Crown many times in the future, well done and thank you.

We enjoyed a family meal for eight people on a Friday evening. We chose The Crown having eaten several times at the sister pubs in Bury St Edmunds and been impressed on each occasion.
Within our party were two very young children and we were welcomed with highchairs provided. The waitresses were excellent- very welcoming and friendly, and service was quick. They paid special attention to the children, and helped make the whole occasion relaxing and enjoyable.
The food generally was very good, with a varied menu to suit all ages. Everything was prepared and presented well. The weather was dry which allowed the children to enjoy the superb wooden play equipment while the adults sat outside at the picnic tables.
All in all, a very enjoyable evening, made extra special by the friendly staff, and we will definitely return.

We went at lunch time on the way to Gifford's Hall vineyard. The menu has lots of choice and is definitely a cut above pub grub. There is lots of outside space for summer and the food and service are good. Certainly worth trying.

Lovely pub and weather sadly on this occasion wasn't matched by very slow service and to be honest average food.
I think there must have been staffing problems as after sitting down for 15mins we had to ask at the bar for menus and then find a waiter to take our order another 20 minutes later..the pub wasn't particularly busy. The food was ok and slow arriving. On the plus side excellent wine, beer and garden and hoping for better next time we return!
