Great afternoon tea served on Thursdays, wonderfull sandwiches and cakes reasonably priced. Need to book in advance. Friendly staff and nice surroundings, can have it outside in the summer. Four types of sandwich, fresh scones with creAm and jam and a selection of small cakes. Fab mini trifle!

Being almost canal-side the menu is wide in choice, albeit in my opinion limited in actual main course lunches, as it tries to cater for sandwiches right through a long list of other snack/light lunch type foods through to a few main courses, but our main courses were excellent.

The room, the food, the villlage and our host and his staff. The breakfsst is very good
Only minor complaint was the risotto was a little bit salty
