Stayed here for just one night - on the return from a long trip down South. We were looking for a village Inn with good food, good accommodation, dog friendly, and a nice bar/range of drinks. This ticked all the boxes. Had a really lovely stay and we will certainly go back. Rooms were great, evening meal and breakfast excellent, bar well stocked with a good choice of wines/ales/spirits. Great hospitality. Dog was made very welcome too, and just a short walk from the Inn is a good recreational area/fields to let the dog run. Very good value for money.

This is without doubt one of those places that deserves massive praise and plaudits. The George pub, with its attached Coach House accommodation, is just amazing. A true and undeniable hidden gem, superbly run by Chris and really is the best around. Located in the picturesque Northants village of Ashley, the food, wine, beer, speciality gins and whiskeys are all just amazing and to die for. Michelin star quality food really without the price tag. Amazing creativity from Chris again and the accommodation is stunning. Chris deserves an honour for the endeavour, dedication and undeniable passion he gives to his business. Highly recommend this place for leisure visits, especially to see the phenomenal and nearby Harringworth Viaduct, along with some superb country walks/hiking/cycling and picturesque views right on the doorstep of this place. Also for special occasions such as intimate dinners, birthday and anniversary celebrations, business meetings tied with relaxing accommodation and with just something different away from those boring usual business places, office parties, you name an occasion this place is great - it’s just perfect in every way. Seriously anyone reading this MUST try this place. A village pub and accommodation with so much class! And run by someone with real passion. What more could you want. We will be back on many occasions in the future to sample the delights on offer. Thank you Chris for a wonderful stay.

Four of us had a great meal here last Friday . . . Great sharing starters, specials board as well as menu. . . . the lamb I had was so tender, real melt-in-the-mouth.

My extended family and I ate at the George for the first time on Sunday. We'd heard that the food was very good and we were not disappointed. There was a great choice of starters, we opted for the Prawn Cocktail and Mixed Rutland hams - both were lovely. The roasts (beef, lamb and pork) were all great. the bottle of Morgon was fantastic and reasonably priced. Overall a great, welcoming and personable experience. well done to Chris, Carol and Dawn who looked after us so well - thank you! we'll be back...

Despite a full house, the landlord pulled out all the stops providing game pie, roast tates and fresh veg, followed by a wholesome apple crumble. A lovely evening and a great atmosphere in the pub.

Stayed here Saturday 12th November Bed breakfast and we had the evening meal for our anniversary. Set in a stunning location this beautiful pub delivered a a fantastic overnight break. The coach house has been turned into very comfortable bedrooms. We stayed in the Ashley room, double, with a excellent on suite shower. Very roomy with tv, tea and coffee facilities, dressing table and built in wardrobes. The pub itself is very "ye old worldly " and it was delightful to sit and have our drinks and meal in the dining area adjacent to the bar, with a real log fire burning. The food is superb, we chose 3 courses which was presented beautifully, at very reason prices. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, Chris and Carole, the landlords were fabulous hosts, not forgetting Dawn who made sure we were not kept waiting. It was also a pleasure to meet Crunchie, the staffie. Overall we could not fault our stay and are definitely going back before Christmam to enjoy its charm , and explore more of the surrounding area.
