We visited The George this weekend with friends and found a gem in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. The hosts Steph and Neil and their daughter Hannah were very welcoming. We extended our stay to two nights and the accommodation and breakfast were first class as were the meals we enjoyed in the restaurant. In the bar, the open fire was very homely and inviting, and there was a great selection of beers, wines and spirits to choose from. We will definitely be back again soon. Thanks for a great weekend staycation.

This pub is under new management and therefore all reviews before August are irrelevant. That being said, the new management are doing a great job of welcoming guests. Neil and Steph are the new publicans with help from daughter Hannah and son Adam ( a real family affair!). They are really friendly and have created a really warm atmosphere. The food is local and traditional but with twists. Last night i had a venison pie with a hint of chocolate in the sauce. It was very tasty and great to have something which has a touch of difference about it. I would have happily chosen anything off the menu and been happy. Good wines and beers (Doombar and Tribute were on tap last night). The fire was going. What a shame we are having to leave by 10pm at the moment. The Government's choice, not Neil's!

Great food, very friendly staff and a really lovely atmosphere- will definitely visit again!
It’s a bit of a hidden gem but actually only a stones throw away from Market Harborough and Corby.
Decor is nice and it was warm and toasty on a chilly eve.
Menu is very well priced for the quality & I was impressed with the ale selection.

Had a perfectly cooked steak with a friend at the George last night. Steph and Neil and son Adam couldn't have been more helpful. A lovely evening, quality food, relaxed atmosphere. Thanks all round!

The food was lovely, i had the special, duck with a watercress sauce, others had the fish and chips (lemonade batter...looked amazing!) and the chicken and pesto sauce. Needless to say, clean plates all round. Cheese board to finish with a port. The white rioja wine was excellent. Great service, lovely atmosphere and would highly recommend. Neil Price and Steph Price are doing a wonderful job in their new venture ! 😋👍🏻

Now under new tenants who have transformed the place both in terms of decor and service which is now very Friendly and efficient. Good choice for seniors lunch at very reasonable prices. Food is excellent as was the beer. All inside tables occupied at lunch time so need to book.
Shame they’ll be locked down soon but understand they will offer a takeaway service, which we’ll definitely try.

Firstly, it is important to note that this pub has been transformed by new management.
Steph and Neal took on this pub shortly before the first lockdown in March.In spite of all the difficulties facing their industry, they have proved that a well run pub, with personable landlords will be supported by the village and it’s neighbours.
Crucially, the outdoor space has been reworked, and supplied with heating, so that it is COVID safe.It was so nice to be able to meet with our friends outside yesterday.
The beer was on song, and the goats cheese and red onion jam pizza was fabulous.Thank you both, and good luck for the future.....you can expect us to be regulars!

During lockdowns have only offered a take away service. ExcellentLy organised and super hot food. If lockdowns continue you must try it. We will again and again..... when lockdowns end, you also must try the restaurant

We had the Valentines take away. This was cooked at home, all the ingredients supplied by Neil and Steph,all labelled and detailed cooking instructions were supplied. My beef Wellington was superbas my wife’s fish.
This last weekend we went for the Thai takeaway, this time it was cooked and flavours were excellent.

Great service and lovely meal last night- the goats cheese and onion jam pizza was gorgeous and the chips the nicest I’ve had for ages!! We’ll definitely be making a return visit.
