Stayed here whilst visiting area for a wedding. The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming. Room comfortable, everything you needed with a comfy bed, nice clean fresh en-suite , enhanced with tea making facilities and water. Breakfast lovely, well cooked and delicious. We had lunch too equally as good. If we in the area again we would definitely stay again … a gem of a place

Our first stay at the George , brilliant pub, Neil,Steph,Hannah and all the team were so welcoming and made our stay the best ever. Excellent beer , food and wine, a lovely spot and will be back ASAP, The meal we had Thursday night was absolutely fantastic, definitely the best pub meal we have ever had , ( hats of to the chef) lovely guy, We stayed in room 5 WOW what a fantastically comfortable bed!!!!! and a good nights sleep, this was then followed by Neil’s full English breakfast, again excellent ( he beat me). We will return

My husband and I went here for a meal on a Saturday evening.
The landlord and staff were pleasant, welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, very well cooked and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were just right.
We were pleasantly surprised when we received our bill as we expected it to cost more!We would highly recommend The George.

We came and had Sunday lunch with friends from London. Everyone agreed that the food was absolutely delicious, plenty of it and served beautifully - Neil, Steph and the rest of the staff were so friendly and we felt so welcomed by them. The pub was full, with two sittings and there was a lovely atmosphere.
We have had several meals at this beautiful pub and every time the food has been delicious and the staff so friendly, but not intrusive. We highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Just had a wonderful set menu fish and seafood night at The George at Ashley. 5 courses with a glass of prosecco for £40. At least 7 different meats in different combinations across the 5 dishes. Great sauces with each dish. This was a feature night rather than the normal a la carte menu, which is also excellent. A la carte not always on. Very good pub food on other nights though. Very friendly family country pub/restaurant. Highly recommend.

We chose this lovely pub randomly as a halfway stop & really pleased we did. We met Adam 1st who was very helpful & welcoming. The local people were all very nice too! We had a superb evening meal in the restaurant. A good night's sleep in a very comfortable room with ensuite facilities. A lovely breakfast was cooked by our friendly Landlord. 10 out of 10. We will return, thank you 😊

As our local is temporarily closed we are visiting other pubs serving food in the area. This was the first visit to The George at Ashley and we shall definitely be returning. We booked in advance, which was a good thing as almost all the tables in the eating area were taken (a Thursday evening) with a collection of friendly patrons who were evidently enjoying themselves. The host was very welcoming and took time to talk to us about his pub. All the food is cooked from fresh ingredients so you expect to wait a few minutes for the dishes to arrive. Well worth the wait. I had the mushroom soup which was strongly flavoured and full of character, followed by the venison - tender as chicken and served in a delicious wine sauce. The beer selection was good; the wine list was a bit limited in choices of single glass (as opposed to a full bottle) wine, but the landlord obviously knows his customers and didn't have a pretentious or expensive list. Thanks for a really enjoyable meal and such a great atmosphere.

The atmosphere and staff was second to none We was made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in
Food was excellent and the pies was exceptional and a varied choice including vegetarian We ended up playing darts with the locals and had a great evening I would recommend this pub 100% for value
