Called in today for lunch for first time since new landlady and husband took over . Had very nice meals . Liver and onion gravy and mash and veg { lovely] , fish and chips and ham egg and chips both meals very good . Nice light dining even on dull day , friendly staff . Prices very reasonable . Just been for first meal under the new management. Wow! Had the steak and ale pie which Michael Winner would have described as “Historic “. The new decor is perfect, the welcome friendly and the owners and staff just make you feel so welcome. Great food at very reasonable price. We will be regular visitors. Nort sure why I’m posting this as I don’t want to be turned away as it gets too popular!!

We popped into The Black Horse for a spontaneous Sunday Lunch last weekend and what a very pleasant surprise it was! A very warm welcome, a choice of great roasts and a room with a beautiful view over the countryside. We will definitely be returning!

We dropped in to the Black Horse tonight to sample the fayre being offered by the new management; it was a delight.... Fab warm welcome and a very friendly feel to the pub. We felt very welcome from the minute we walked through the door. It was Pie NIght and we sampled the Lamb and Mint “Home made” pie... A previous reviewer said the Pie is “Historic” and I absolutely agree; full of homemade flavour and full of great quality ingredients... We will be going back very soon and that’s for sure... Good Luck to Daniel and Claire, a lovely couple and I am sure they will do very well at the Black Horse..

Very nice place, the meal would of been 100% but the vegetable’s needed to be cooked a bit longer and in a bigger dish. Beef was lovely and tender, could of done with a gravy boat.
All in all nice meal but please sort out the veg problem.Looking forward to trying again very soon.

Recently redecorated, attractive interiors. There's always a warm welcome and the food's good pub grub. Have eaten here several times, in small and large groups and service is always with a smile and food is hot and well presented. Can't believe the value for money - we are so lucky have to The Black Horse in Foxton!

First visit to The Black Horse in more than two years and am happy to report we thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. The conservatory has stunning views over Foxton/Langton Fields (make the most of it before the housing estates arrive). Service was efficient while more importantly the food was absolutely top notch Sunday dinner. I went for Salmon with Hollandaise sauce, new potatoes and veg. My wife had Roast Beef…the Yorkshires were big enough to use as a sleeping bag. The kids both had beef burgers and am pleased to say the chef made them especially, even though they were not on the menu. I understand The Black Horse is under new ownership, whomever it is, they are doing a good job. We’ll be back.
