he I Would Rather Be Pole Dancing School was set up in 2008, by former fitness instructor & dancer Nia Pearce.
With a passion for dance, and a desire to explore a relatively unknown form of dance, the I Would Rather Be Pole Dancing School was born.

Tim Jenkins, the current Principal, took over the running of the dancing school over 25 years ago from her mother, Freda Howson (previously Freda Gurney). Classes have been held around High Wycombe for over 50 years along with various fundraising shows. Kim's daughter, Cara, is now studying hard to qualify with the IDTA so that the school can continue and expand in the future. Cara is loving the opportunities to gain the required teaching experience during the classes each week under the guidance of her mum!
Pupils have been entered for IDTA examinations with great success rates throughout the years. Many have enjoyed participating in Town Hall Shows and school fetes, raising money for charities along the way.
The dancing school has survived this long without paying for any advertisement and is solely reliant on referrals. Enquiries are regularly received from past pupils for their children and grandchildren to join, along with many referrals from present students.

All our Latin dance courses, workshops, holidays, events and clubs are run and taught by highly trained, friendly instructors who encourage dancers of all levels to enjoy the spirit of dance.
Incognito Dance have won many prestigious awards, including UK’s Premier Salsa Teachers 2008/9, London Latin DJ Star 2010, Favourite London Club Promotors 2009/2012, Lukas Award Winners 2013, Best Salsa Dance Performers 2014. Over the last 16 years, some of the IDC instructors have competed in and won, World Championships, European Open Championships, South American World Ranking Tournaments, Asian-Pacific Dance Competition and Canadian Latin Open Championships.
Classes, courses and workshops are for all levels from the total beginner to the highly skilled advanced dancer and performer. Absolute beginners are warmly welcomed, no partners are required, the atmosphere is fun and friendly during the classes and freestyle social dancing.
