Learn to Row Our learn to row (L2R) course is run to British Rowing standards. Stage 1. A taster where you will learn the basics. Including safety, clothing, equipment, techniques etc. Comprising ca. 8 weekly sessions of about 90 minutes each, on Tuesday or Thursday evenings starting normally in May and at Upton Marina. Stage 2. A progression when, after a short break, what you have learnt in Stage 1 is consolidated and your technique is developed. Comprising ca. 8 weekly sessions of about 90 minutes on Tuesday or Thursday normally starting in June and finishing in July. Stage 3. Putting into practice all you have learnt during the course. Stage 3 involves rowing on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings at Upton Marina. There will be chances to meet other club members and also 'beginner rowers' from other clubs in our region.
