I live in Halifax Nova-Scotia Canada. The fruit and veg stop delivered a lovely basket to my mam for mothers day. I am visiting in May and will be stopping into the market to pick up a few things to bring back. You can't beat a good old fashioned market!!

Good range of stalls , offering quality , individuality and competitive prices . Particular favourites are Sillfield Farm ( it is the only place in Barrow where you can buy Waberthwaite sausage) Peace and Loaf , Harts and the lady who does the little wooden plaques ( can't remember the name )

I like to use the market where I can, supporting the small businesses of the town, some whom have been there years! I recently bought some upholstery fabric from Parkers Fabrics, they are always friendly, helpful and have great prices. Nice to see the stalls in the market filling up :)

Markets have long been the heart of any community and Barrow market certainly is at the heart of Barrow.
There's something there for everyone, clothing, food, pet supplies and much, much more.
The stall holders are lovely people, always willing to help with ideas and tips.
I seriously can't recommend Barrow Market enough.

We used a stall in Barrow market to promote our youth organisation and campaign for votes for a natuonal competition. We were given loads of information amd support and felt very welcome. The other stallholders were very helpful and Jacqui was there to help is throughout the day. We will definitely use again and will continue to support our local traders.

I shop at the market because it's friendly service and nothing is to much when you ask the market trader's it's a much better service then you would get in other shops in town you can buy a range of thins from birthday cards to watches and pet food and then you can get homemade food from the cafe so fair to say you get variety and good value for your money and it's clean and dog friendly

I try and use our local market at least twice a week. Love the local butchers. Veg stall. can't beat fresh produce. You can even buy the odd button instead of buying 6 and only needing one. Keep it local buy locally.

I have always enjoyed being creative, making my own clothes and doing little sewing projects for myself, my friends and my home. Whether I am looking for fabric, buttons a zip, thread or an embellishment, I know I will find what I'm looking for in Barrow Market at very competitive prices. The stallholders are always very helpful and take time to give advice and make suggestions. Why would I go anywhere else?

On my recent visit to barrow market i came out with more than i bargained on, my initial visit was to purchase a net curtain, pole and hooks from darren were i have always bought them but whilst doing this i wandered on to kevins stall next door and ended up purchasing myself a new purse and had a chat with him, then onto the sweet stall to treat my grandson who was with me, i then looked longingly at the cakes on the cup cake stall, but alas had to pass as on a diet.
Then on to the Mane Man hairdressers for pam to cut my grandson's hair and bag himself a lolly pop.
What i like about barrow market is you can get pretty much everything you need under one roof, clothes, food, books, dvd's, pets and your hair done as well, and its great to wander through seeing all the long time stall holders still there and new and exciting stalls opening weekly.
