One of the best meals we have ever had. Great service, perfect atmosphere, with the food having amazing flavours. Left you wanting more and having to hold back not to lick the plate. The evening finished with a nice touch where Mark, the head chef visited all the tables to ensure you had enjoyed your evening and were able to pass on your feedback directly. Not a crumb left on any plate in the restaurant. We will be back very soon.

My husband and I went to Base last night and what a night! Getting COVID out of the way first - all done very well and a great socially distanced experience. Now for the important part! The food! Love being able to see the prep happen in the kitchen, gives it a more intimate and personal feel. From starters to the petit four everything was perfect! The outstanding dish for me was the Chocolate Vanilla dessert and for my husband the Partridge main course. Excellent service, great to be able to chat with chef Mark after the meal which just rounded off a fabulous evening! 10/10 💙

We turned up as a group of 7 to celebrate a birthday to find there had been a problem with our booking (no booking), the staff could not have been more helpful, they accommodated us by the bar which we were apprehensive of at first, but in the end it made our evening perfect and could not have been better. To compensate us for their error, the chef offered us 2 bottles of wine on the house (which went down a real treat!). The food was so tasty we could not fault. However 2 guests in our group ordered the caramelised onion tarte tatin which was on the small side with no accompaniments. It didn’t spoil their evening but didn’t feel fully satisfied. All in all a very tasty evening, great service, will definitely be back.

Visited Base restaurant after perusing the menus recently. Dined on wood pigeon, cod cheeks, turbot,squash risotto, champagne raspberry sorbet, treacle tart. Delightful food tasty and well presented. Service very good, loved this venue relaxing friendly atmosphere good social distance. Mark also took time to chat to each table afterwards. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We would highly recommend a visit if you want an elite dining experience

First time dining here and we wish we’d been sooner! Absolutely delicious, can’t fault a thing! You can see the kitchen/plating and how much attention to detail goes into it. Such a lovely atmosphere and service, Chef/owner Mark took the time to chat every table which was lovely. We’re already planning our next evening here and recommending to all our friends and family.

We love our food, love cooking, grow our own and try to buy local, that's why we had to dine here after perusing the menu recently. Dined on cod cheeks, wood pigeon, turbot, squash risotto, rasp and champagne sorbet, treacle tart cinnamon ice cream. Delicious fresh food well presented and being able to see the kitchen during service added to the experience. Service very good, atmosphere friendly and relaxed. Mark took time to chat to each table afterwards. Menu amazingly changes weekly! Keep up the good work we will certainly be returning. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening would recommend if you want an elite dining experience.

My husband and I have been twice since base opened a couple of months ago and I can't praise it highly enough, base isn't just a restaurant it's a dining experience. The food is outstanding, superb flavours and as a vegetarian myself I find it amazing to finally find a restaurant that serves an out of the box, innovative menu that changes on a weekly basis (a la'carte). Of course my husband who is not a vegetarian finds the choice amazing and delicious, it really is a full senses dining experience.
Mark puts passion in his food and restaurant and it shows, the service is excellent and the staff are a credit to the business. Can't recommend 'base' highly enough.

Five adults for a family birthday celebration. A real treat for all of the party. Fine dining in a beautiful location. The three course menu is excellent value and fantastic quality.
