Lovely! The room was very nice and clean, we had dinner at the pub and the food was lovely. It's dog friendly too which is a plus!

A really warm welcome, especially for the dogs. Had an interesting craft beer and the lunch was lovely.

This is one of those 'out of the way' places that I chanced upon when visiting the area. Although I recieved a warm welcome I have to say that the overall experience was largely disappointing mainly due to the sterile atmosphere that seemed to hang like a haze throughout the place.
Maybe I just visited on an unusually bad day so when next in the area I will pop in and try to prove myself wrong in my assessment.

Had my birthday here on Saturday 13th November, excellent service and food, even with the place being extremely busy.

Definitely worth a visit if you are staying or passing through the area.

Lovely location and a nice pub. Have to say some aspects look tired since change of ownership however I appreciate covid struck so closed businesses like this. That said carpets in accomodation could have been cleaned whilst closed to appear more inviting to guests. Upon arrival our toilet wouldnt flush, a staff member did come to speak to us after we reported it. We were told there was nothing that could be done perhaps an offer of a change of room would have been a good idea being that no other rooms appeared to be in use.
Food was amazing and we had to leave before breakfast so staff provided us with takeaway bacon sandwiches which were fresh and lovely. The lad and girl working in the bar were really friendly and helpful despite being busy.
Hope to come back and see some minor improvements to make this a 5 star review next time.

Visited the White Hart last week for evening dinner, after a lovely walk close by. The staff were very welcoming and pets were welcome. Very good menu and prompt service for both drinks and food. We chose the home made Steak & Guinness pie which was delicious. The meat was very tender with just the right amount of crust. Not a huge portion of vegetables but not a major issue. All in all we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and a lovely pub to unwind in. Hope to visit again soon, to enjoy this area if the Lake District.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch at 3pm and we arrived 10mins early and our table wasn't ready, the table was still full of dirty dishes and glasses from the previous meal so we waited for it to be cleared. After 10 minutes we decided to clear it ourselves but the table wasn't wiped down by any staff member afterwards. All other tables were exactly the same it just looked a right mess. Another family came after we sat down and they cleared their own table too, it just seemed really under staffed and the guys behind the bar never seemed to stop serving as there were locals at the bar wanting drinks and then people from outside coming to be served as well as food orders coming in, it really does need more staff.
Our food was delicious and I couldn't fault it. My husband and I had the Sunday lunch and our son had fish and chips all was amazing and we didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive.
Can I just suggest to the guy behind the bar with the long hair that he either has his hair cut or ties it up when he's working because I watched him continuously running his hands through his hair when he was busy and then spin glasses round in his hand, it made me glad the other bloke served me my drink.

Old pub which has kept its character. Good alcohol selection. My wife had fish and chips which she said was lovely followed by Eton Mess, loved that. I had steak and ale pie followed by fruit crumble and custard. All lovely, the crumble was the best I have had. Service was excellent.
