For far too long so called Manchester based stations just covered Manchester and Bolton never got a look in.
It is a community run community led station with lots of local content.

96.5 Bolton FM is a great radio station which brings local news, events, music, items of interest, guest speakers and superb general radio shows to local people of all ages within the Bolton area. There are excellent presenters, producers, admin staff, maintenance people of various nationalities all voluntarily working together to create a diverse and interesting day's entertainment. There are experienced directors and managers all willing to help if need be.
As an aged volunteer myself, it has given me a new lease of life and I thoroughly enjoy the challenge and input I do, and the friends I have made since I became involved 3 years ago.

Andy Haslam with the Breakfast show does lots of local events and info plus a round up of local news on the half hour.
On Sunday Clare Green looks at films in the local cinema then looks at Bolton Wanderers in the second hour.
Mid day on Sunday Tom Brady plays 2 hours of golden oldies.
Really enjoyable listening while relaxing at home with the coffee and toast.
Very professional and a credit to all concerned.
Support your local station that cover Bolton as a community not just for the odd story that might be of interest elsewhere.

There constantly helping charities in our area, churches and comminity centres by allowing them air time. They came to my church to record us and it was so much fun!
