This is a very welcoming Holiday Inn (in my experience they always are) with very friendly, helpful staff located conveniently in Bolton town centre.

It was good value for money, with a comfortable bedroom and a very good breakfast.

I had two bar snacks which were very nice although a little pricey, but it was good quality food, well presented in a pleasant atmosphere.

Overall I would recommend this and I will certainly use this hotel again.

stayed here overnight during a 2 day event. for us the location was perfect a mile down the road. the staff were brilliant the food fantastic. don't bother trying to find somewhere else to eat the prices were also reasonable. the room was tidy and comfortable the only thing I could niggle at was the corridor carpet seen better days. minor but took away the 5 rating.

Room typical Holiday Inn standard comfy bed, great pillows, quiet. Gym basic and a bit tired but enough equipment to get a decent sweat up. Didn't use the pool but looked clean and welcoming. Staff all good. Resturant slow to start with but hey I was in no rush and was enjoying the free pint of beer offer (spend x on a la carte receive free drink and free wifi for an hour). The food was excellent when it came. Breakfast standard fare although wish I'd seen the "items cooked to order" sign before I'd helped myself.

Parking tight but free, wifi not free.

I would stay again.

After recently attending a wedding of a relative there recently I have the say the room was stunning. It was built in to an old church. The staff were friendly and the food was impeccable. The chef came out and spoke to the bride and groom and she was lovely, couldn't do enough for them and it is this attention to detail which would have me consider coming back for future family functions. Well done!

Holiday Inn (Bolton Centre) came to our rescue at the last minute to host My Mum's 60th Birthday - from the outset they were helpful, excellent communicators, reasonable in prices and flexible in their suport offered - all staff prior and during the event were great - a really friendly hotel where nothing is too much trouble. We stayed there as well, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast was great and the service was impecceable.

Would highly reccomend people to consider for functions and staying at the hotel.

Poor holiday inn seems to always be the poor relation. This one has all the amenities and looks like it has had a revamp quite recently. The staff are probably amongst the best I have encountered, friendly, just genuinely happy to help where they can. We were placed on the 4th floor where it was quiet, albeit some rude guests slamming doors, which is more of a slant towards the rude people living around us than the hotel.

The car park is challenging with its peculiar design in where the pillars are placed, as it makes parking in what is a smaller than average hotel car park, quite taxing. The breakfast buffet is as good as one could hope for. This review would have been a four, so why the three. Our room had a normal shower and another shower which was fixed to the side and lower down the wall. I assume it may be used by individuals that could have motility issues.

I took advantage of it to use to bathe my 3 year old. She sat in the bath and I switched the shower on at the cool setting. Checked the water and it was pleasantly warm even though the setting was on cool. I put in my child and we begun to have a bath and a play session.

When it was rinse time I again put the shower on and placed it on the cool setting. I left the water running as I began to wrap up the play time. I noticed that the water was become warmer and thought what is going on? I turned round and checked to see the tap which controlled the temperature, had somehow turned to the mid 40's. I quickly ran my hand through the water and it was very very hot. I thankfully did not just put it on my child. I later did a test and switched the tap on using the cold setting; what I found was that the tap was somehow slowly turning itself up in temperature. So if you had turned the shower on, on the cold setting, left it running whilst you scrubbed yourself or your child, and then grabbed the shower head you could be in for a very nasty shock. This one thing, was for me a potentially huge disaster.

So as far as the hotel goes, go and enjoy, but be aware of this fault as it could cause severe heartache, which I narrowly avoided. Not sure if it is was just a fault with our room, which was room 420.

I stayed for 1 night on the 9th April 2013. I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Lunch in the bar area was very good value for money and there was a good range of snacks available. The room was clean and well presented. Great shower, comfy bed, choice of pilllows all made for an enjoyable and relaxed experience. The evening meal portion size was 'huge'. Breakfast was very relaxed with buffet style hot and cold choice. Check in and out was straightforward and carried out by friendly welcoming staff.

We stayed here as we were attending a family wedding reception at the hotel. I wasn't expecting a great deal to be honest as it doesn't look too promising from the outside and, let's face it, it's a Holiday Inn! First impression of the reception area were good, and the receptionist was polite and helpful. Our room was perfectly acceptable, with a choice of pillows on the bed. We unpacked our stuff and then headed back down to mingle. After a while we were invited through to the bar for pre-reception drinks which seemed to last for an age. Eventually we were called through to the Cloister suite for the meal. Wow, what a room! It's actually an old church which the modern hotel was built on to. It is beautiful, and looks stunning set up for a wedding reception.

The food was very good with large portions, though the service was a little haphazard. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly though. After the speeches we sidled away for a bit of a key snooze before the evening reception, freshened up and went back downstairs. The Cloisters suite looks even more amazing at night and is the perfect place for a wedding reception. bar prices were not too bad for a large chain hotel - a pint of cask ale was £3.20 though this was only on by special request of the groom. Good man!

Breakfast the next morning was very good and served until 11am which makes a nice change.

On the remote off-chance that I find myself in Bolton again in need of a hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The Holiday Inn Bolton was the ideal venue for a wedding at the Town Hall. There were no problems, from check in to departure. The breakfast was good but slightly overpriced. The price is okay if travelling as a family as children under 15years eat free.

My daughter got married on the 30th March 2013 in the cloisters suite what an amazing setting, we could not fault anything on the day, the weeding breakfast was wonderful tasty and plentiful and presentation was great. From start to finish the whole day was fabulous. A big thanks to Rebecca she was tremendious and made sure that the whole wedding went to plan. Thanks to the Chef food day and night was great. The manager who helped out to sort out a disabled room for a family member.
I would like to say a BIG BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF INVOLVED THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK.

IF you are thinking of having your wedding here BOOK NOW YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED

A comfortable hotel spoilt by the inability to lower high room temperature as it is centrally controlled(according to staff) Staff were very pleasant and attentive.Restaurant menu good but very over priced.Breakfast was a big disappointment.Greasy bacon and mushrooms, unappetising sausages and rock hard fried eggs. For the price the guests should expect much better.Room, however, was spacious and very comfortable.

Stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions while working in area, it`s located very close to town centre and has onsite parking facilities and cheap pay and display opposite if onsite full.

The staff are all welcoming and friendly and all areas clean and tidy. The reception, bar and resturaunt areas are set at front of hotel under an impressive glassed area which make it bright and airy, nice to relax and chill with a drink after a hard day at work.

All the rooms I have stayed in are of the usual holiday inn standard with usual facilities, rooms at front of hotel tend to be brighter with a better outlook.

There is a gym and pool onsite in the basement and I have previously used the conference facilities to hold a business event.

Good access to/from hotel to surrounding area. I recently worked at Reebok stadium only 20 mins away.

I reserved the Ashton Suite for our group booking of 80 people. Visited twice prior to the function to discuss requirements with the Sales Coordinator and Conference & Events Supervisor and received friendly, efficient and thorough service. Hotel staff were also very courteous.
In addition to the lovely hotel/bar environment, the Suite decor and lighting was excellent and perfectly suited our needs, creating a wonderful and relaxing atmosphere. I was regularly updated on how everything was progressing throughout the evening and the Events Supervisor was available and easily reachable to discuss any changes.
The food was very good (several people thought it was excellent) and the service was a delight and unobtrusive.
Everyone was able to park on the hotel grounds, mostly in the open air hotel car park.
The feedback from our group was one of high praise and we strongly recommend this venue. We hope to make this location a regular feature of our Awards evening.

Needs a bit of refurbishment and cleaning. Staff are very friendly and only because of them I would go back.

The hotel itself was in a good location and clean and tidy. Car parking was very good as it was very secure and lots of spaces. Only downside was the male receptionist who checked us in was rather brusque and unfriendly.

I stayed at the hotel as I was on some training near by, a lot of the guest seem to be business travellers. The breakfast was a standard buffet breakfast but if you wanted to eat in the hotel at night it was a bit pricey. The rooms were of a good size and had everything you needed including tea making facilities, but the rooms were a bit worn but were clean.

I didn't use the pool so cant comment, and the staff seemed pleasant. I would use the hotel again but the rooms do need updating.

The exterior of the hotel looked good, the car parking facilities were a joke. Welcoming staff and service by staff met expectations, iv seen better rooms and the bathroom needs an urgent upgrade.

I reserved 20 rooms on four separate booking via various websites. As "group leader" I went to the hotel to explain early in the day. Staff on reception were great and really understood what I needed with small changes. We were there for a night while at a show at the Albert Halls so it was really convenient. I was thankful of the hotel's open air carpark as we had some large vehicles.
While there for a Sat night only, the hotel was hosting another event so it was really busy early evening, but town and restaurants we're less than 10 mins walk away.
Nice atmosphere at the hotel too. After several compliments from members of my party, we'll be there again next year.
Thanks for a good stay with no hassle.

After a long day in trains and taxis I was welcomed by friendly smiles and efficient service. The staff were polite and eager to assist. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is roughly a 10 minute walk if you are feeling energetic. Meals were reasonably priced according to the average hotel meal rates. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Holiday Inn hotel like most of them are. Stayed here a few times for business. Rooms clean and modern, room service good if a little pricey. It's in a convenient location for my needs but isn't in the nicest place in the world. They really need to fix their very sqeaky front door, it's been very slow and sqeaky for atleast a year I know of. Would stay again though!
