Was at Holiday Inn for a dinner dance, check in was easy and the rooms were small but modern and nicely furnished, the bathroom was really tiny, would be very difficult to get into if you were a larger person or if you had any disabilities.
Function was in the Cloisters which was a beautiful room but very cold, the food was adequate could do with some improvement especially the main course.
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, seems they were understaffed but struggled to find bowls for cereal, items were slow coming out when they ran out but once you got it breakfast was very good.

I've been staying at the Holiday Inn in Bolton since September, the service of the staff and upkeep of the rooms are fantastic. They make for a a very convenient stay. The food however is a huge let down for this hotel, breakfast buffet is often inconsistent and I've often felt sick after eating an evening meal to which is overpriced.

Went as part of a wedding party for two days, over all it was a wonderful experience and the staff were extremely obliging. From Bernie and the cleaners through to reception and on to the bar staff and catering staff, all were more than willing to go the extra mile. While the bar may have seemed a little pricey the cost of bed and breakfast certainly was not with the restaurant running about average for a meal. Of the seven of us dining I was disappointed with my evening meal, Lamb Shashlik, the rice was dry and the lamb under seasoned and the meal lacked a "sauce ", but every one else enjoyed their meals and I was offered a complimentary drink to compensate. As someone else has written, the reason for only giving 4 stars is the small wardrobe and no drawer space in the room, the room itself is spacious and comfortable and the bathroom is quite adequate - the room is obviously designed more for the business person. To sum up, had a fabulous time and would have no hesitation going back again. Thanks again to all the staff, you are a treasure.

Stayed for 1 week for a work trip, room was spacious although bathroom a little small, all clean and well furnished. Staff were lovely. In particular the lady on reception was Amazing (didn’t catch her name but she has a beauty and the beast tattoo on her right arm) I had to go to a pharmacy late one night and she found me one that was open and arranged a taxi for me - she’s a real asset to the company. Didn’t stay in the restaurant to comment on the food. Would stay again

This hotel is very clean and modern. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Bernie and the other members of the housekeeping team kept our room spotless. I always look under the bed before checking out in case I've dropped something and it's rolled underneath. There wasn't a speck of dust under there. The breakfast choices and food quality are excellent. So you may wonder why I haven't given 5 stars. Well it's all to do with the room facilities really. The bathroom was very well appointed but the room was woefully inadequate in terms of wardrobe and drawer space which is very important to me. There was hardly any full hanging wardrobe space and no drawers. The room design seems more aimed at business people and short term stayers rather than the 8 nights we stayed. We opted for the upgrade at £10 per night but I don't think it was worth the extra £80 and wished we'd never done it. When I said so to Reception, they took this on board and gave us 2 complimentary bottles of wine and a regular supply of biscuits and chocolate in compensation. Good to see a business listening to the customer and doing something about it.

Met up with family here we haven't seen for nearly 2 years due to covid restrictions. Good choice Reception and Bar Staff were excellent. Friendly, obliging and efficient. Evening meal wasn't up to usual standard. Maybe due to pandemic. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. Staff again were pleasant and helpful.

Good The revamped rooms are a modern take on 1960s style - which they have done well. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Good central location.

would definitely recommend, but perhaps consider room only & eat breakfast elsewhere easy parking, central location, clean bedrooms & comfy beds. staff helpful and friendly. TV on the small size in the bedroom considering everything else was modern. Breakfast disorganised on the Sunday. Run out of a number of cooked breakfast items and a smaller selection of cold items than on the Saturday morning. No yoghurt, butter etc.

Perfect location for our short weekend stay The room was large which made the TV feel a little on the small size, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom felt a little on the small size however, but the walk in shower was big enough for two. Booking.com has some out of date information in regard to the rooms having both a bath and a shower. This is no longer the case for any of the rooms at the hotel - All rooms now only have a shower! The room did not have a bath as expected from my booking placed with booking.com which stated the room had bath & shower facilities. Could not figure out how to get the air conditioning working, and no information on how to alter the temperature in the room.

Don't use booking.com to book this hotel go direct so your room dose not get canceled. The staff was very friendly and one girl on reception in particular went above and beyond her duties to accommodate our requirements, the breakfast was nice and had a good selection, the bar area was more contemporary and not for me but was comfortable. the town was only a short walk from the Hotel. When I booked on booking.com I was given a confirmation code and chose to pay at the property, when I arrived my booking had been canceled by Booking.com. if it wasn't for the receptionist going above and beyond we would have had to sleep in the car as there were no rooms left.

Very good and we would definitely stay again. We only stayed one night but the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and polite. Excellent! Based on our stay alone then nothing needed improvement.
