I have just stayed for the second time at the hotel. This time surpassed the other. I attended a long weekend function and it was amazing. I had a courtyard room which was very comfortable and had all that you require and it was spotless. Our party was in excess of 200 people and the hotel coped with everything we required. The bars and restaurants were staffed by people who enjoyed serving you and all went the extra mile to ensure you got what you wanted. The food was first class and the wine selection was very good. My only complaint is that you cannot draught real ale. Still it didn't spoil the weekend. Can I thank all of the staff for really making our weekend. I hope we get the opportunity to return on a regular basis and receive the same attention to detail we did this time. Well done to you all.

We attended my husbands military reunion this year at The Last Drop Village Hotel and had a fantastic weekend not only bacause of meeting old friends but also the excellent service we received from the management and staff of this wonderful hotel.
The hospitality was outstanding, the food was superb, rooms are clean and bright, beds were very comfortable with lovely white linen.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were always helpful and courteous.
I highly recommend this hotel and am looking forward to our return visit

We have a reunion every year, this is the first we have had in the Last Drop Village hotel. I have never felt so comfortable in a hotel as I had in this one. As an organizer of this event we had over 250 people turn up for our annual reunion, I received only praise for the accommodation, food and the helpful staff who went above and beyond the call of duty! Even the MD was present all weekend, a cheery helpful man who ensured all was well among the guests. I could mention names but there would be too many, who were outstandingly efficient and happy in their work. Roll on next year when I and our members can return for another event like we have just experienced. THANK YOU. David G

My wife and I booked for a Sunday spa including dinner, bed and breakfast. The price was about half of other spa hotels so we felt this was a good deal for us.

The positives:
The staff were friendly and helpful. They reserved our treatment times for us even though we forgot to book them in and kindly contacted us to arrange.
The Spa was open for long hours which was particularly pleasing given it was a Sunday night.
The meat for the evening meal wasn't fatty considering we were having braised beef.
The checkout time of 2pm was also a bonus.
You don't have to walk outdoors to get to the outdoor pool.
The spa wasn't crowded.
The massage included in the deal was definitely worth it.
The bed was firm (this is our preference).
You can actually swim in the indoor pool.

The negatives:
There was a noticeable amount of mould and rust in the bathroom.
The shower kept going hot and cold. We didn't complain about this during our stay because we didn't want the hassle of switching rooms.
The spa facilities are very tired. They remind me of a council leisure centre that hasn't been invested in for a good number of years.
The food was very basic and lacked the touch of class we were hoping for.
The floors around the rooms are very noisy so you can hearing everyone your corridor walking and nobody was trying to be particularly loud.

When we first arrived at the hotel we saw a grand building which looked very inviting, it's just a shame that the insides don't live up to it. This could have been an excellent stay but we left thinking 'that was fine'.

We celebrated the wedding of our daughter and new son in law here. We required several accommodation rooms and the use of the function room for all aspects of the ceremony, marriage service, reception and evening celebration. I was hugely impressed by the excellent and very professional service provided by the staff. They worked very discreetly and covered every detail, transforming the rooms from one function to the next.

The meals provided were of a really high standard and they were hot and fresh. Any concerns I had before the wedding proved to be non-existent. I cannot recommend this location highly enough. They are superb people to deal with. The location and hotel decor overall is exceptional.

I recently visited in 2 capacities, as the brother of the bride and as a working musician. On both fronts, I can't fault this place. The hotel is lovely, all venues are spotless, the grounds are well kept and the wedding team are the best I have ever worked with! Everybody is calm, friendly and down to earth. I would recommend to anybody thinking of getting married here to just take the plunge and do it. The team go above and beyond... the general manager even let us use his car as the weather was so bad... what more could anybody ask for? So, from a professional and guest perspective, this place gets full marks. Thank you all for a brilliant time!

Absolutely love this hotel. Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Stayed with my sisters and we had a fab time. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. Food great and plenty of it. Already looking for the next party night event so we can stay again . Well Done!

My best friend recently had his wedding here and I was fortunate enough to be the best man at his wedding.
The wedding planners could not do enough to help us with our needs. They went well and truly above to make it a special day for everyone involved.
The most impressive members of Staff we came across that weekend and I have been compelled to write about them were 'David' and 'Catherine' in the restaurant and Bar area. They were two of the best bar staff and waiters I have ever come across. genuinely made us feel completely at home even into the early hours.
The facilities of the village were very impressive with the spa and gym being up there with the best we have experienced.
Unfortunately there was a couple of negatives with our stay. Firstly was the beds that we stayed in over the weekend. I honestly believe they were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever experienced. The second is the ludicrous bar prices we were paying. Normally I wouldn't be bothered about bar prices. But being asked to pay £9.45 for a double gin (Gordons gin) and lemonade was simply ridiculous.

All in all a good hotel.

We stayed here one night to attend an awards ceremony in the Pennine Suite, lovely Hotel staff were very nice on check in, we made use of the Hydrotherapy pool and saunas which were brilliant and very relaxing especially the outdoor area in the pool and facilities were very clean
Our room in the courtyard was lovely and clean.
The meal at the evening event was very nice some of the staff were very young and didn't seem to sure of what they were doing although that didn't take away from the very good service
The breakfast staff definately deserve a mention as they were lovely exactly the kind of people you need to help give you a good start to the day, the breakfast buffet had plenty of good options and you could also have cooked to order from the menu overall it was a fantastic stay and would highly reccomend

My husband and I attended a business event in the Pennine Suite. The venue was lovely, and the food very good for a large catered event. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was very good too. The rooms were reasonably priced. My only complaint with our stay is that the bathroom bin had not been emptied after the previous guests, and I noticed because of the smell when I opened it. Yuck. Also there were a few cobwebs in the corners of the room. House-keeping could have been better. We did not use any of the leisure facilities.

I booked this as a one-night stopover at the end of a road trip. Driving up, it looked much better than the photos we had seen. It has a lovely spa with infinity hot pool looking down over the hillside - unfortunately we weren't there long enough to make use of it. Room was good-sized and very comfortable beds. A small minus, but not a dealbreaker - we had our dog with us but didn't have any blanket or bowls provided as per other reviews below. Our room was well situated though so that we could take him in and out of a separate entrance and not trek through reception. A doggy bin in the grounds would be good.

We ate in the restaurant - all very good, except a pet hate of mine - the food turned up before the wine.

The next morning we discovered the actual Drop Inn pub and shops further up on the site. Went into the tearoom and had a lovely breakfast.

Would be great for a weekend break, but not likely we'll be back in that area though
