I stayed here for one night. The room was as expected for the price, no complaints and all the usual amenities were included. The breakfast in the morning was above expectations in terms of quality and variety. I was pleasantly surprised to see proper back bacon. The chef also came and introduced herself. She was very welcoming, as was all the staff. Overall my stay was a pleasant one I would stay here again.

We booked afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Matthew looked after us during our stay and was very accommodating and is a credit to the hotel. We would highly recommend booking afternoon tea at the hotel.

A group of 4 of us were staying as competitors at the English Nationals pickleball championship at the Arena nearby. The receptionist was polite but purely transactional on taking payment. We asked about breakfast cost and times. Nothing forthcoming on hotel spa facilities, room location, additional keys, evening meals, hotel functions etc.
The room was basic, clean and functional but the beds were awful with the springs easily felt through the mattress material. Not a great night's sleep before a competition. One of the rooms had no cold running water in the sink but with no weekend maintenance available, the bath tap was the only option.
I enjoyed a full breakfast on the second day with a good selection of cold and well cooked hot food on offer. The cooked breakfast on day one was a mixture of undercooked fried eggs, hash browns and raw bacon or overcooked sausages and black pudding.
It would have been much more convenient if the pool and spa opened early in order to make use before enjoying breakfast and still get out for the day. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were great for a quick relax. Lovely to see the pool being used for swimming lessons for little ones. Unfortunately only separate gender saunas were available as located in the changing rooms.
Overall, an average experience in terms of value for money for comfort, food, facilities and location by way of a 20 min walk/5 min drive to the arena complex. It wouldn't be 1st choice for a return visit, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Katie is the best staff member I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. Her relentless hard work and dedication to providing a great experience made the last 3 weeks an absolute delight. During my time at the hotel she has consistently covered shifts for other staff members and done so with a positive attitude and enthusiasm which makes being around her a wonderful thing. She constantly has a smile on her face and strikes the perfect balance between friendly and professional at all times. 10/10 service and a real credit to the hotel. Meg is alright as well, eggs are decent.

Me and my daughter recently had the pleasure of staying at Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel during our trip for a fencing tournament at Bolton Arena . Our experience was nothing short of excellent! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who made us feel right at home.
The hotel itself exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean. The comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep, and the bathroom amenities provided were top-notch. We particularly loved the breathtaking views from our room, which added an extra touch of luxury to our stay.
One of the standout features of this hotel is its outstanding customer service. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, providing us with helpful recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. They were always ready to assist with any requests we had, and their genuine hospitality made us feel valued and appreciated.
The hotel's facilities were also excellent. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing us to maintain our workout routine even while traveling. The pool area was clean and inviting, providing a refreshing break from our busy days of exploring the city.
Overall, we had an amazing stay at Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel. The combination of exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and convenient location made it a perfect choice for our trip. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bolton, United Kingdom, and we look forward to returning in the future.

The pictures of the rooms when booking online do not reflect the actual condition of the rooms when you check in. Friendly staff but rooms are very dated and in desperate need of renovation. I booked a privilege room but was very disappointed with it overall which made it very poor value for money for what I paid for it. I have stayed here before and the standard Room was better in my opinion. Room was clean but I will not be staying here again as it is just not up to a good standard which is a shame as I'm sure it was a very nice place when it was new. No criticism of the staff as they were very nice.

Nice hotel with all the basic stuff you need. Very good addition is pool if you like to swim and relax. The only downside is a small amount of seats at the dining area.
