Great place to visit. Good view of the stage. Sad to find that our drinks that we had pre ordered and paid for had been taken by others when we came out for the interval. The Octagon were great and dealt with it quickly although they shouldn't have to do that. A different arrangement may be necessary. Look forward to going in the new year!

The theatre is relatively small with the audience surrounding the 'stage', withthe front row finding their feet actually on the stage. Mid performance drinks can be ordered and paid for online. The availability of a lift means that people who are poor with stairs means that, with the exception of the 'circle' (balcony seats) may find that the seats at the rear of the main auditorium are a convenient option to the front row seating area. There is also a pre performance dining, I don't know if pre booking advisable, maybe so. The only downside is it's warren like quality, by that I refere to the nessasary narrow corridors you need to negotiate, (you will loose your sence of direction)
Note as a theatre in the round, the scene changes probably therefore basic scenery.

Really enjoyed a Christmas carol but I thought there should have been an age limit as the younger ones were quite distracting but the actors dealt really well with it keep up the good work and merry 🎄 xx

A lovely in the round theatre and terrific production of A Christmas Carol. Helpful and friendly volunteers on hand to guide you around and answer any questions you may have. Nicely stocked bar - good idea to pre-order drinks for the interval

Amazing performance but the restaurant is over priced for the portion size
Cod and chips peas were 11-25 and the fish was very small. No comparison in size from other pubs or restaurants.

First time visit - really good experience. Parking immediately adjacent, reasonably priced food in the cafe before, good sized bar, friendly staff. Will visit again. The show I watched was 'brief encounter' which so well done, and made the most the stage format.

Working for a local charity, Age UK Bolton, I booked the use of one of The Octagon's bar areas for a meeting / presentation for up to 35 people.

From the initial enquiry through to the actual day of the event, the staff at The Octagon were extremely helpful and accommodating. We required equipment to display the presentation on, as well as catering for the event as it was taking place over lunchtime into the early afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble for the venue.

I was very pleased with the end result, as were those who attended, and have added the venue to my list of locally available meeting venues for future use.

Excellent theatre, lots of staff to help you. The only thing I didn't like was that you could only pay by card, and I only had cash on me. I don't like being forced to pay by card, I prefer cash.

The bar and kitchen are nice enough without the theatre. The theatre didn't have a bad seat. My absolute favourite. Just watched spring and port wine there. My first straight play, and what a gorgeous intimate theatre.

Brilliant night watching The Book Thief - fantastic in every respect - production, cast, performances, food and drinks. The Octagon is a fantastic venue, very comfortable and you're so close to the action. Parking right next door too. Overall a totally brilliant experience.
