Spend a magical evening in the company of Jane Austen’s most memorable characters, from the comic absurdity of the Dashwoods to the passionate Wentworth and Anne - not to mention the charming duplicity of the notorious Mr. Wickham.
Performing duologues from Austen’s iconic novels, Caroline Langrishe (Judge John Deed, Lovejoy) and Adrian Lukis (Pride and Prejudice,Peak Practice, the Old Vic, the National Theatre) will bring her timeless writing to life. Musical accompaniment from harpist Camilla Pay and soprano Rosie Lomas will recreate the sounds of the Regency era, and evoke the glittering entertainment of the Prince Regent’s legendary court.
The performance will be introduced by author Catherine Curzon, who writes on all matters 18th century and Regency at www.madamegilflurt.com. Catherine’s work has been featured by websites and publications including All About History,History of the Royals and Jane Austen’s Regency World. She will sign copies of her book Life in the Georgian Court during the interval, and happily discuss all things Georgian!
An Evening with Jane Austen has been performed to sell-out audiences at the V&A, the Masonic Hall and Assembly Rooms in Bath and at Godmersham Park - the former home of Jane Austen’s brother.
