Brighthelm Community Centre Weekly update! 23rd July 2015
It’s been such a busy week at the Brighthelm centre! The garden is looking fantastic thanks to the work of our diligent gardening group and we’re very excited to announce that this Thursday (25th June) we will be declared Brighton and Hove’s first Pesticide free zone! We’ll be holding a special unveiling event where you can find out more about the importance of pesticide free gardening and some handy tips and tricks, all happening from 12.30 in the garden! See event details HERE .
We also welcome a whole new set of volunteers to the team helping us to grow and we celebrated all their hard work as part of the recent national volunteers week, we’re so thankful for everything they do, we’d really struggle without them!
Its only 14 days to our next film day too, on Tuesday July 7th, Brighthelm Film club will be showing the fabulous Forrest Gump staring Tom Hank as the ultimate optimist! Join us for tears and laughter followed by tea and biscuits for a suggested donation of £4 from 1.30 PM in the spacious auditorium. Mark August 4th in your diary too as we screen ‘The Great Dictator’, the satirical 1940’s political comedy starring, written and directed by the legendary Charlie Chaplin.
The café also has some delightful daily summer specials running too, such as the scrumptious pesto chicken with lightly buttered new potatoes and the heavenly root vegetable and lentil soup as well as all our tasty regular dishes, such as our toasted Paninis, served with hand cut chips. If you fancy something a bit lighter we also have an indulgent range of cakes, such as our luxurious chocolate brownies, and for those wanting to cool down in the hot weather we also have a superb range of cold drinks available. As always everything in in our café is available at an exceedingly affordable price, sticking to our moto, ‘Great Coffee. Fantastic Food. Outstanding value.’ Read our customer reviews HERE .
The mural being created by the extremely talented Sarah Gillings of S.O.S is also well on the way to being finished and we hope to officially launch it later this summer
We wish all our friends and customers a delightful week whatever you are doing and remember to check back next Tuesday for our regular update!
