PRIDE is here and we are hoping the sun shines!
The city is about to burst into a profusion of colour, music and gaiety this weekend, but where to go to watch the parade on Saturday?
Those whose residences or workplaces line the route are particularly lucky and there will no doubt be numerous parties with a birds eye view of the parade, for the rest of us we will have to make do finding a place at street level.
Pride, a celebration of the Brighton and Hove's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population, attracts more than 200,000 people each year, according to organisers.
The carnival parade will start at Hove Lawns at about 11:00AM , followed by a ticketed event in Preston Park. The Pride Village Party will be held in the evening in Kemptown.
Here are some simple tips to make the most of your Pride Parade experience:
1) Know the parade route! See the map below.
2) Meeting friends or family? Agree to assemble away from the crowds. Have a plan in case you lose each other.
3) Get there early to choose your perfect spot.
4) If you are having a picnic, get your food, drink and snacks way in advance and out of area. The queues at shops near the route will be formidable.
5) Participating beats only watching so get your favourite spangly costume out.
6) Have fun and stay safe!
