If you love keeping fit with your dog, come along for what promises to be a right bark in Hove Park on Saturday 14th July. All ages, breeds and abilities are welcome at the 5k Dog Jog for this fun, friendly event that will get all tails wagging.
And for more about what makes our city the best-ever place to be a canine, see Dog-friendly Brighton and Hove or if you don’t own a dog, but would like to give a home to an abandoned one, see our Adopt a rescue dog blog. The outdoor fun continues at Preston Park on Saturday, when superheroes gather for the Kapow Charity Race. Don your cape and mask, and get in touch with your cartoon comedy side as you slide your way around ten immense, bouncy, foamy inflatables. And talking of comedy - this month you can catch a glimpse of Edinburgh Fringe Festival talent without the shelling out the rail fare at The Secret Comeday Club, which features a different line-up for each show. If all of that is making you thirsty, hop on the beer-wagon for an afternoon tasting tour - a chance to sample some of the best local craft beers and learn about the history of brewing in Brighton and Hove. For history of an altogether different kind, take a wander through Kemp Town, where, with the help of an expert, you will learn about famous local females in the fields of policing, fashion, education, shopping and the arts during the Notorious Women of Kemp Town guided walk. And, finally, if you need to chill out after all that activity and excitement, don’t forget this weekend’s Brighton Yoga Festival - where you can learn from the experts how to relax and stretch out. Aah, summer - and so much going on… What better place to be? |
